    I don't believe that is correct. As I understand it, the depth comes from the distance of the outer wiring wraps "out" from the inner wraps where the signal is sent down.

    I don't see any reason it would have any greater depth since they are both 6 inches wide. The extra bit of coverage would be nice, but the 6" is sooooo good, I doubt I'll buy the 6x9.

    Updated mine tonight. Downloaded tool, hooked up to computer and after about 10 minutes . . . nothing. Switched USB slots, tried again and it downloaded in about 15 seconds. Eazy peazy. Now, I just need to make some time to go out and give it test drive.

    That is odd. I've dug a memorial cent and a dime at about 8" each with the small coil, and even at that depth the numbers locked on and didn't change. You should have dug it. Possibly more than one target in the hole?

    I don't know if everyone wanted SMF because it's deeper, but it already was deep. Telling me it's even deeper in 4khz is NOT bad news.
