hunting with my 8x6 next time out...

I really like the 13" ultimate it has great separation in my opinion and I use it often with success. I have the 8x6 too but don't use it much even though I have found silver with it . I have found confidence and concentration is half the battle in metal detecting so l expect you will do well...

    Sweating for Silver

Back in the 70's and 80's would have been a great time to hunt even with the older detectors since the ground was littered with silver I would imagine. I was in my early twenties and mding wasn't on my mind then but my priorities have certainly changed now . Thanks Ron , I hope there is more...

    Sweating for Silver

Thanks for looking! There's silver still out there but finding good spots are harder than finding the silver. Funny thing though the rosie's sounded better with better silver numbers than the merc's , must be the age and wear of the coins I guess .

    Sweating for Silver

92° and humid, what possesses us ? Well, today for me I hit a new spot ( old vacant city property) and within 20 minutes I found a merc and a bit later a rosie and I was pulling wheaties as well and the sweat was pouring but I couldn't stop. Then came another merc and a foot away was the war...

    Dang !

As a matter of fact it did cause I could see the year without glasses and then saw it had a mint mark and the excitement quickly rose and sadly fell after I put on my glasses. Lol Thanks for looking!

    Dang !

What a shame, only $4550 difference between a D and an S . Rang in like a memorial penny in a yard full of iron . Maybe next time Roy

    E-Trac Xchange Mode Patterns?

Yeah I 2nd the opinion that patterns are overrated. I run an open screen in TTF and a modified version of the stock coin pattern which takes out some of the junk targets. I do tinker with the settings in bad conditions.

    Let's talk pinpointng a target

I quit using the pinpoint button years ago and just use the wiggle method and the only time the target is off center is when it's iron.

    Coil choice

I have the nel hunter and it's accurate with the numbers according to the targets ( of course all coils in iron will fluctuate ) . I like the coverage and it has decent separation with average depth is what I have found out and it will find silver. it is discontinued but I called around and...

    Another Walker

Another surprise for me, it came in at 11-46 12-47 and I was hoping for a quarter and as I popped the plug she fell out at about 5" deep. One merc came in at 12-44 and the other was 11-45 12-46 . A 3 silver day is getting to be rare so I enjoyed this one!
