    legand tone

The tone adjustment doesn't really seem to make that much of a difference in target tones to my ears , threshold tone does change things up a bit however. It's nothing like on the etrac/CTX where you could actually over modulate targets on the extreme adjustments. Certain threshold tone...

    Lg24

I will agree with that!! I have the 24 and found it to be a nice little coil for tighter areas , no issues with the sound but the LG 30 is a BEAST! I have found it works on my larger sites better than the 13" and has really taught me to not ignore those deep chirps that it is so good at...

    legand tone

Over a decade on the etrac and CTX ruined me when it comes to tones and the Legend sucks in comparison just like all the others I had. One of the reasons I dumped the Nox 800 shortly after I got it was the poor tones when I still had a functioning CTX to use. I had hopes the Manticore would...

    Legend frequencies

I frequently hunt in 4khz because it has proven to be a little deeper in my dirt that mostly balances below 10 , especially if there are a lot of old bottle caps around and time is limited. I usually run 5 or 6 recovery and for some reason above that the SMF(M3) seems to give me more "chirps"...

Nokta Legend , best bang for the money Minelab Manticore , best bang for the ego :) :)

Can anyone ID this? Old farmers cant….

Going along with OL's idea I can see this being a clevis used where quick adjustment of a chain's length is necessary and locking the perpendicular link in the "notch" allows for solid attachment but also allows for quick adjustments , especially if the clevis was attached to an upright object.

    pinpointer on the legand

I did the 1.11 on my older Legend and I'm about as incompetent tech wise and as anyone could be and have had no issue whatsoever with pinpointing other than the previously mentioned lack of confidence in the depth readings. Seems my Legend has three depth indications , surface , 4 to 6" or ...

    pinpointer on the legand

Depth indication is only marginally accurate but have never had an issue with location. I wasn't aware there was a problem unless you are referring to the handheld one.

    18k Opal big wooop wooop

HGE stands for "High Grade Electroplate," "18K HGE" means the item is electroplated with 18 karat gold. I agree about digging the targets that just sound good regardless of the VDI and your wife loving it is the best place for it!(y)(y)

Gotta share this info, went to a small dog park for a short hunt and did something different after watching a video.

I looked in a dog park for a man's lost ring once , found a few tags , no coins and the ground was like concrete.

    Ever seen one of these

Gee , that's a beauty , I'm going to find one to set on my fireplace mantle:)

Just bought a Legend at age 70…

Legend beats the F75 in all ways but ergonomics and it's not far behind there either.

Four rings just under the grass.

Good for you , had a similar day recently myself. 5 ring day in an elementary school tot lot , 2 were .925. Doesn't happen much anymore!!

Convince me TO NOT get a Legend.

^^^^^ My experience has been similar to Mark up above and have dug as many or more deep coins with the Legend as I did with either the etrac or CTX , my dirt consistently balances in the low single digits. I could/would not update to 1.11 until Nokta did whatever voodoo they do to make doing the...

Convince me TO NOT get a Legend.

Legend hands down , are they new or used and what coils come with the legend. Doesn't really matter the legend is leaps and bounds worth more than the Simplex

    Ctx is a water monster

The CTX is a beast and it should be for the price. Dump the GPS and put the same package in a light weight model and it would be another winner.

Has anyone ever used a Minelab GPX 5000 on a park searching for coins

Find a White's TDI instead , that would make it death by a thousand small cuts versus 5000.

Has anyone ever used a Minelab GPX 5000 on a park searching for coins

Who cares ?! 95% of the trash in the parks I have hunted is non ferrous to begin with. If you are a dig everything type detectorist then go for it , the iron will be the least of your "treasures" but the Ronald McDonald House in your area will love all the pull tabs you bring them and the park...
