Best Wired Full Ear Headphones for the Equinox?

I actually never tried my Killer B's with the Nox. They were fantastic with the Nokta. I assumed they would work on the Nox with my 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. I've used the Nox exclusively with Sennheiser OMX 185 ear buds with volume control. Great sound, very comfortable (no head pressure).

Best Wired Full Ear Headphones for the Equinox?

They are comfortable and build is tough but the tone separation is just not there. For a coin hunter, hearing deep target high tones clearly in the mid and low tone chatter of trash is essential.

    Broken ears on stock coil

This issue is an ongoing thing with Minelab. Nobody should have to buy coil ear stiffeners. Happened to me with the X Terra. Now I'm always worried it's going to happen with my Equinox.

Best Wired Full Ear Headphones for the Equinox?

I really like my Killer B's. They have good tone separation and are comfortable and solid.

    The Legend is here!

Minelab should buy an oscilloscope. They obviously don't know what they are talking about... They don't hang around detector prospector enough as well me thinks.

    Equinox on loan

I dig a lot more nails since I've been using the Equinox but lots of times I was surprised to find a coin in with a rusty nail or two. Sometimes a nail will make the occasional high pitched squeal that I look for in 5 tones but the noise can be slightly distorted / clipped at the end when it's...

    more silver with the equinox

Thanks. That coin is heavy as well. It's a heavy chunk of brass. Not very cost effective to make a huge coin of such low value !

    more silver with the equinox

Snow in the forecast for next weekend. If we get more than 2 inches that will end it for me if it stays on the ground but it's all good. I've already had a successful end of season and I'll patiently wait for 2022.

    more silver with the equinox

Where is that mentioned though (boost mode) ? That's exactly what I thought when I started using it at 23 just for fun. Up to that point I had started at 20 on the recommendation of Minelab for beginners and then I slowly got up to 22. At 23, I felt like the ground was alive. It just seemed like...

What are your beliefs about metal detector? Old Tech VS New?

I kept thinking simultaneous multi frequency was essentially a marketing ploy to make people spend more to obtain very little in return if anything. After swinging the Nox for about a month now, I am absolutely convinced I was wrong ! It has been a complete game changer for me in the places I...

    The Legend is here!

Why are some people so sure that the Equinox runs in only 2 simultaneous frequencies ? Where is the official information ? I want to see it. Everything else is hearsay.

    more silver with the equinox

Another weekend hunt and the Equinox found me a few more interesting coins. I stayed in park 1 mode with everything open except for iron but cranked the sensitivity just a tad to 23. I noticed a definite boost between 21 and 22 and 23 seems to take it to another level. Depth is definitely...

One year with the Nox 800

"Fun" is a word that describes it well. I also wish it was better made but I wonder what the cost would be on it's price tag and in the way it feels (super light and balanced).

What are your beliefs about metal detector? Old Tech VS New?

Absolutely agree with LTimedigger. In hard sites (in my case dense modern trash on top of old coins surrounded by rusty nails and rusty bottle caps), there is no doubt that high tech gives me a serious edge. I was an unbeliever until I got the Nox. Since I have been a long time Nokta user, I'm...

    the coins keep coming

In dense woods. It's now become a natural park. People mainly use the picnic areas and walking paths here nowadays but back in the day, it's quite clear that people were gathering all over the place (and drinking lots of beer !) About 80 percent of the coins I find here are from the early 40's...

    Does anyone do this????

It's the first thing I always do with a new machine. I go to the trashiest of places first and see how well it unmasks compared to the detector before it. It's a great way to learn the new machines target ID's and tones as well.

Meed a little help with the Nokta Pointer.......

I tried with a penny with mine and I'm getting a little more than an inch. This has never been a problem for me in practice. It's the only pointer I have been using for years. Did you set maximum sensitivity with the green button ? What are you getting with your MI-6 ?

    the coins keep coming

I had a weekend off so off detecting In my favorite part of the woods I went. This is the result of a 2 day hunt of about 10 hours total. The Equinox did not disappoint once more. I found 15 silver dimes so far with this detector in a relatively short time. I found my first silver quarter shown...

Public park gives up 8 silvers.

Man, I thought it was awesome to get 2-3 silver coins each time out. Eight is really out of this world. This place might never have been hit.
