Winter cleaning of your At Pro

This is what happens when you push the buttons when you have the detector under water. Water and sand does not get inside the control box but is trapped between the rubber buttons and the front screen. I also replace the decal on the outside of the screen at the same time. When you remove the...

This is for you high tech guys: I tested this Phonak hearing aid with a size 13 battery in it. Used an At Pro, small 5 x 8 coil, with the following settings, pro-zero, full sens and automatic GB at 80. At these settings I got only a blip from the detector and no numbers on the screen. I just...

Trouble ground balancing your At Pro

I was told if you have trouble ground balancing your At Pro(getting it to quiet down), you should lower the sensitivity to ground balance and then increase the sensitivity again. Is this correct?

    Not all things are equal

The meter readings on these two 14K rings are totally different. Can someone explain to me why? The FG ring comes in at a solid 50 meter reading in about all positions, side, edge, etc. The other ring comes in at 79-80 laying on the side, 70 from the top and all kinds of numbers from the bottom...

Replacing the decal on your At Pro screen

I had an air bubble between the screen on my At Pro and the decal that is on front of the screen. I obtained a new decal from my Mder dealer and proceeded to peel off the old decal. I used a hair dryer to heat up the decal before doing it but it did not go as planned on the first attempt. The...

How to grid a grass area thoroughly

If you want a thorough search of a grass area this is what I do. Line out a couple of strings about 6 to 8ft apart, depending on your swing arc. You can now get 4 passes over this area before you have to move the strings again. Found the ring right by the metal detector coil in the picture...

    Meter reading on Tungsten rings

Gentleman lost his tungsten ring while tailgating for a football game in a grass area next to a tennis court. This area is on a campus and has had tailgating done there for years. You cannot move your coil one foot without hitting good solid targets, bottle caps, pull tabs, coins, etc...

Questionable reading on a gold ring

My hunting buddy got a call from a guy who lost his wedding band while raking leaves into a plastic barrel and then hauling the leaves out to a leaf pile at the back of his property. He said the ring was made of gold and his wife had the ring made for him. We knocked the leaf pile down to about...

    Case of overload???????

Lady has this plastic box of silver coins buried in her backyard and now cannot find it. Could be buried one to two feet deep. She had another identical box that she did not bury (picture attached). I used my AT-Pro to test the readings for that twin. I had the At Pro set at full sens., pro...
