DEPTH OR RATHER LACK OF IT.

I wish some new detector technology would give us genuine extra depth. I need to get 12+ inches on a tiny silver coin. I don't see any real increases in depth ever coming for a long long time. Not until a NEW detector technology comes. I think the really deep coins will one day be found with...

    7" concentric best discrimination ?

I can't remember digging any bottle caps at all with my 7 inch concentric .. it does id or ignore most of them. probably 95% of them.. I do dig the occasional bottle top with the 9 inch concentric..

    Another Simplex update v2.77

    hardly worth downloading..

    Simplex updated to 2.76 Hot!

The " extra depth" seems to be more of an audio boost on the deeper targets. The coins or rings right at the limits of detection depth are sounding better with the new software. This will equate to more finds. I think the field emitted from the coil is still the same length ..

    Simplex updated to 2.76 Hot!

I have updated to software version 2.76 today , The sensitivity bars have now been increased from 6 to 7 bars, This gives a much hotter response on the deeper targets. The seventh bar is a" boost mode" which absolutely fantastic. This will get you extra depth for sure. A NEW deeper park...

Just 14 weeks to go ... smaller Simplex-Plus coils needed!

I am guessing the smaller coils for the simplex will be another 5 to 6 months away. Nothing is happening fast with the smaller coil production.

    Garrett repair

A fault where you whack the machine with your hand and it" fixes it self"

    Equinox VS Explorer..

The equinox is slightly deeper on most targets. I have done tests on buried targets.

    Which mode for the Simplex

I have never used beach mode inland but i will try it out. I hunt high trash sites like parks and fair grounds. Lack of smaller coils for the simplex SUCKS !

Looks like White’s Vx3 model discontinued

The field that emanates from the coil is "FIXED" . Tweaking is mostly a waste of time IMHO. Years of detecting taught me that. Switch on and go really beats everything...

    Which mode for the Simplex

FIELD MODE 100% OF THE TIME FOR ME. PARK IS JUST TOO CLIPPED ON THE AUDIO (FOR ME ANYWAY)

Looks like White’s Vx3 model discontinued

Whites probably have been struggling to sell enough of them if they have quit with this model.

    Jars full of tabs collected.

Some years back a metal detector dealer once told me " you must dig tabs to get the good stuff" I am not saying he was a liar and maybe it is true. My jars are crammed with tabs now. The treasure's have eluded me though :(. The hunt goes on though . I have actually become a collector of pull...

Just downloaded latest software for simplex. I like it.

The thing i like l most about the latest software is the ability to save discrimination settings when powering down the machine. Hard to believe it never came with the earlier software version but it makes it a much better detector now ... The tests i have done with depth on planted coins...

    Florida Beaches.

How many gold rings does the average Florida beach hunter find in say a week if detecting say 4 hours per day. I live in the uk and dream of searching such beaches as florida.

    Simplex discrimination

So easy to disc foil out , so easy to disc gold out at the same time. The pinpointing has very good sizing info (to a trained ear) on the simplex. I can tell if it's a foil clump or say a small ring . Not all detectors have this inbuilt quirk...good feedback for sure...
