    Republican Blues

I am using the Deus 1 with the 11" XP35 coil and running the stock deep program. I have had this machine almost 8 years and am planning on using it until I can no longer hunt.

    Republican Blues

Just a week before I found a US Militia shoulder belt plate 1812-1830 and the day before this hunt I found 6 Confederate bank notes at an estate sale. This has been my best year in almost 50 years of hunting!

    Republican Blues

I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote Cavalry button instead of Artillery. I guess my mind was on the Republican Blues button.

    Republican Blues

My buddy Kevin invited me to hunt with him this afternoon at a freshly plowed and rained on site.My first good signal was the front to an Infantry cuff button. Then I got into some trashd so I moved to a different part of the field. The spot I chose had been hunted just yesterday but I found a...

    Estate Sale Finds

I went to an estate sale with my wife this morning and bought several books and a Notebook. When I opened the notebook the title page read "Confederate States of America paper money". I thumbed through it and thought it was empty until I got to one page. There were six notes on the page. I took...

Literally the last target of the day

No hills where we were hunting. But, the soft dirt works on an old man's legs!

Literally the last target of the day

While there were CS clip cornered buckles this isn't one. It was correctly identified as a US militia shoulder belt plate 1812-1830.

Literally the last target of the day

I have to make a correction. This belt plate has been correctly identified as a US Miltiia 1812-1830 shoulder belt plate. It could have been used during the civil war as a buckle but it is not CS origin. Sorry for any confusion.

Literally the last target of the day

A good friend invited me to hunt with him today at a site that has been hunted hard for several years. My first two signals were 42 and 44 wheat cents. Then nothing for about 3 hours. Finally I made it back to my truck, took a couple Tylenol and rested for a few minutes. My buddy was in a...

    Ceramic ball

They also use ceramic balls as fireballs. Used in a gas fireplace or pit instead of wood. https://starfiredirect.com/collections/fire-balls-shapes-stones

    Lead game piece or what?

Possibly a bale seal? Is there any sign of where there were two small wires coming out of the side? They may only be rust spots now and thy would be close to each other. I couldn't see any in the picture you posted even after enhancing it.

    Hacksaw Ridge

I have watched it two times in the past week. It will never get old to me.

    Hacksaw Ridge

Maybe censored was the wrong choice of words. Uncut and cut might be better. The uncut version here was much more graphic. It was hard for me to watch it.

    Hacksaw Ridge

I watch that movie every chance I get. I have seen the uncensored version and the TV version.

    Keeping fingers crossed

I am pretty sure that "Sterling" is the manufacturer's name.

Button ID, what do you see?

It looks like something but I can't make myself see exactly what!:giggle:

    Odd Eagle Button

Don Troiani replied that he did not know what it is, but he deals mostly in revolutionary war period stuff. I did have someone tell me it is most likely a epaulet button from the last half of the 19th century. That would explain the tin back as this button would have been stationary and not...
