    Button front?

I think it is a one piece flat button. It looks to be too thick for a two piece back. The pock mark is actually where the shank was attached. It is the back of the button. The front is plain. This is one of mine. Your button dates from about 1810-1840.

What kind of buckle is this?

It resembles a Mississippi belt plate but I can't find an exact match. I hope it is genuine but it may be a reproduction/fantasy item.

    Plowed US farm fields.

I use the stock deep program until I get into a lot of iron, then I go to the fast program. 99% of my hunting is plowed fields.

    Snap button

That would convert to about 16mm which is right for a cuff, vest or hat button. And, for your information buttons are measured in mms. Don't ask me why!

    Not too much today.

Someone else also said 67 so I am going with 1867. Thanks for your help.

    Not too much today.

The date on the nickel is wrong. They weren't minted until 1866. I tried to get a better shot using my digital microscope but the date is no longer legible, even though I applied a few coats of renaissance wax last night. These coins are bad about deteriorating when exposed to the air. So, now...

    Not too much today.

It was a good day spent with good friends. 1854 shield nickel, 1904 Indian head penny and a New York staff cuff size button with Scovill backmark.

    c1820s militia eagle belt plate

I think you are right on with your ID. 1825-1835. That would be a good candidate for a restoration.

I need to correct myself on your first button. It is not 1902-1910 but 1910 to 1927. That's the best I can do given its condition

Can you give us a precise measurement in MMs for your first button?

    Snap button

Your "black finish" button with the round rim would date from 1910-1923.

    Snap button

That is a 1902-1910 US Arny Great Seal button missing the back. It could be a cuff or hat band.

    Letters of a button

All I can tell you is that it is a career uniform button. https://waterburybutton.com/product/n-t-f-c-see-04518-2/
