    Trime Time

I have three or four that have been found in the last 45 years of hunting. The others came from Maryland and I gave one of them to my buddy the other day because he had never found one.

    Trime Time

She didn't smile on me yesterday. I got skunked! Didn't find a thing worth keeping.

    Trime Time

Kind of hard going in circles right now. Cotton stalk stubble makes difficult. We have been hunting this site for about 5 years now but the one field we are in is over 400 acres so we have a lot of ground to cover. Three of us went back Sunday afternoon for about 3 hours. One guy found a Eagle A...

    Trime Time

I am using the Deus 1. Right now I can't decide whether to get the 11 r just live with the 1. I am 71 and my detecting years are dwindling.

    Trime Time

Four of us went back to the same spot yesterday and five hours of hunting produced one 1907 Indian Head penny!

    Trime Time

Found this 1851 Trime and a plain flat button at one of my permissions. Buddy found a confederate pewter block eye and an 1839 dime and my other buddy found an 1818 large cent, Navy cuff button and a nice civilian button. Sorry, I don't have pictures of my buddie's finds.

    My dance with Covid

Glad to hear You all are better. Sunday, the 16th I started feeling like I had a cold coming on and by Tuesday I was in bed feeling rough. I took the covid home test and it was positive. Then my wife started feeling the same and she also tested positive. She has been out of work since. I am...

    Deus II depth?

How deep will the Deus II go using the stock programs? I know soil conditions affect depth so I will add that I hunt sandy to clay soils in southwest Georgia. My buddy uses the 800 and constantly digs targets in the 10-14" range.

    Flat Buttton ID

It looks like N&Co to me but I have never seen it.

    Another mystery piece....

I am going to agree with airburst93 that it is a bed bolt cover. If you do a search for them, there are a lot more round ones than ovals. As for the center "screw", it may have been a decorative piece attached to the cover.

    My 1st Cleaner

They were fired. They had zinc washers between the bullet and base that were supposed to clean the barrel when the round was fired. I don't know if it is true but I read where the Union soldiers were hesitant to use them in battle because they caused infections in the wounds they made.

    Is the Deus II fast?

He hunted with his 4900 until he passed away in 2019. I was using my Deus!

    Is the Deus II fast?

I don't have a dog in this fight so I will just say that any detector is only as good as the person using it. My brother would whip my butt using a white's 4900 because he had learned the machine as well as he could. He would hunt behind me and find stuff!

Need help identifying this old bullet that I think might be from the Civil War

I will agree on it being a Spencer round.

Need help identifying this old bullet that I think might be from the Civil War

Post a picture of the base, please. And give us a measurement of length. An accurate measurement of the diameter and length would help greatly in IDing your bullet.

    Mystery piece..

Does the tab extend on both sides? My first thought was a foot peddle of some kind.

    Very Small Button

It has been IDed as a woman's shoe button. They measured 8.5mm as does this one.

    Very Small Button

This is as clean as it is going to be. I have been told it could be a child's clothing button, a doll button, shoe or glove button.

    Very Small Button

The rolled copper point is native American and from the late 1700s. There have been a few more found at this site and many at other nearby sites. I think the button is just a flower one. I have looked at it closely and can't see an eagle or a fleur de lis. I will clean it up a little and see...
