how can i make a swingy thing?

May want to try something like this. The open hook lets you get the detector loose from the harness when needed. Also notice the key ring is attached near where the base of your hand would be on the detector. Ron in WV

Oak island that Gary sure knows how to run that CTX.Must be good machine.

Now this is not a metal detecting show, it is a treasure hunting show. Gary doesn't use headphones for the show. They do have permits for all the digging they do and they do own the land. So I don't see why he would use a little 6" flower pot shovel to dig a 3 sided hinged plug in ground that is...

    T2/F75 coils

I think most will agree that the concentric coils are the best in iron. For the F75 I know of 2 concentric coils the little 6.5" (some call it the football coil), the other is the 10" concentric. The 10" is actually a shade deeper than the stock 11" DD coil and 6.5" coil is also a shade deeper...

    T2/F75 coils

Just a thought, those 2 detectors are enough alike that you may not want to have like coils for both machines. So you may want consider different jobs for each detector and different kinds of coils for each detector. Just a little something to think about, DD's and concentric coils. Ron in WV

    E-Trac settings

I would say MTF over TTF there is no real advantage but for me it gives me a extra clue as to what the target is, say big or small silver or penny. I would dig all those targets but I dig harder if I think that is silver half dollar down there. LOL Here is the rest of my today's settings and...

    E-Trac settings

I did some more testing this evening just to make sure setting sounds to Ferrous is the way to go. I set the sounds to conductive and tried both multi and 4 tones. Man I sure like the sound of that silver dollar and half dollar in front of the coil. But when I ran a big rusty nail in front of...

    Depth with stock coil??

The 13" is a really good coil but I don't get a lot of good out of it because of the trash. So for now it spends a lot of time in the coil bag next to the 11" stock coil. So in order of what I like to use. 1st, up the 8x6 butterfly coil ;) 2nd, up the stock 11" coil 3rd, up the 13" ultimate...

    Depth with stock coil??

If my 5" was to go bad I don't think I would replace it. When I first got the E-Trac I used the 5" as a training coil even though at that time I wouldn't have called it that. The 8x6 butterfly coil is the best all around coil I have tried, small enough to replace the 5" and large enough to give...

    Depth with stock coil??

As far as I can tell it is about as stable and it's only problem is in the trash. When I run it I set the manual sensitivity to 27. I could run it at max 30 but it reaches max air testing depth at 27. That little 5" coil is my most unstable coil. Ron in WV

    Depth with stock coil??

A couple of weeks and found with 8x6 coil a metal part off a drum set it was about the size of a quarter, the metal was not rusty but I am pretty sure it wasn't silver. It was right at 9" in the ground, I called my brother over and let him put his detector on the target and then we dug it...

    Depth with stock coil??

Here is what I am getting in my air test. Can't say about in your dirt except for the targets I tested it will be less air testing. Ron in WV

    Concentric coil for E-Trac

Thanks for the comments, it's not looking good for a concentric coil for the E-Trac. I have several good DD coils, a 5", the 8x6 really good coil, the stock 11" and the 13" ultimate. For the amount of trash I am hunting in around here the 8x6 butterfly coil getting the most used. It has pretty...

    Concentric coil for E-Trac

I am wondering if anybody knows if there is a concentric coil made for the E-Trac? Also wondering how well they work if there is such a coil? I went online and really couldn't find anything but info on DD coils. Ron in WV

    E-Trac settings

You can see I have went through a lot pattern work and I try not to just blank things out, I try to keep info and still show what I want for now. So just to help with understanding, any colored in area is closed areas on the pattern and the white areas are all open. All these patterns are what I...

    Concentric coils

I forgot about the coil manual you post 4 years ago, I will be more careful if posting in the future. Please except my apology, Ron in WV

    Concentric coils

I have been taking a second look at the concentric coils for my F75 SE. Here is some thoughts if you have a hunted out silver honey hole with the DD coils, you may want to run back over it slow and lots of overlap with the 10" concentric coil or maybe even the little 6.5" concentric. Now for the...
