    Twin buffalo nickels ..

Both nickels are the 1913-P Type 1, raised ground variety. Found on different days, and a quarter mile apart this weekend. I would say "What are the odds?" ... but apparently they are pretty good. I was honed-in on nickels and pull-tabs for some reason. Only possible silver I could manage was...

While changing coils today one of the rubber washers fell out and vanished into thin air. Where can I purchase one or two more and how much are they? Thanks ..

War nickel and some wheats & relics ..

Battled high temps of 45 degrees and 25 & 30 mph wind gusts. Waist-high grass and brush .... it was tough hunting. I am very grateful that I was able to find anything. The Sunray X-8 is a brush-hog .... I love it. Now I understand why they call it the "Stealth" coil ... it's perfect for brushy...

    October 7th - 10th finds ..

For about a day or so I thought I might of had a 1916-D ... I was afraid to clean it any more to see exactly what the mintmark was. There was just enough crud on it to make it look like a D in my mind. Oh well .... still a first year merc .. I love it. Scared up another silver this morning at my...

    Coins & Rings ..

Went on a marathon 8-1/2 hour hunt on saturday, hit a couple of beach & picnic areas .. and eventually ended up at our local 100 year old park. Each beach/picnic spot gave up a silver ring ... one is stamped Sterling silver - 12K ...black hills gold w/a small diamond. The other ring stamped .925...

You hardcore bottle collectors may laugh ...

.....but up in this neck of the woods we have fewer old bottle dumps. So we take what we can get. They ain't worth much of anything but they are cool nonetheless....enjoy !

Bayrat (Bill Hughes).... an excellent Findmall forums member.

I was looking for a used Sunray X-1 probe a while back. And Bill was nice enough to ship me the probe at his expense before giving him any sort of payment, to try out for as long as I liked. And he gave me a great deal on it too ... thanks Bill. Highly recommended seller !!

    Silver & Rain ...

I did'nt get much detcting time in this weekend really. We helped my wife's grandmother move to a new place on saturday, and I was able to detect in front of the house and down the sidewalk for about an hour while they unpacked boxes. Fairly good results for a strip about 20 feet long and 6 feet...

    Had a productive weekend !!

The photos tell the story ... This day I would imagine started out fairly solemn for just about everyone ... even after ten years it still hurts. But I was able to seek out a bit of happiness today with a silver lining ... enjoy my friends.

    Labor Day weekend hunts ..

I hit an old park on saturday and managed a few wheats and some relics. Today I went back to the resort that has been so kind this year. And was rewarded with one more silver dime and five more wheats. But, I'm going to let this holiest of hunting spots heal for the rest of the year and focus on...
