Deus II 9" or 11" coil

Del, I would have figured you and Patsy for a first in line couple for Deus 2's . . . . guess i would have been figuring completely WRONG!. Shows how much I know about things. I'm on the list of our Local XP Juice dealer for the 11" variety. Looking to see how it compares with my 800...

XP DEUS II ..Is it really a good beach machine ?

My 800 is a great multi-purpose detector - coin shooter, relic hunter, beach hunter and gold prospector. I think that's why it has been so popular. Prior to that, I think the Garrett AT Pro held the spot of the multi-purpose or all purpose detector and was arguably the best seller until the 800...

    Just Sold my New Nox800

Sounds like you have other interests competing for your time. Two thoughts here just from my point of view; First, it sounds like you're interested, but just not successful in getting started. You need a good detecting friend / buddy to nudge you to get out and go exploring with whatever...

My obsolete 800 finds an obsolete flying eagle today

Obsolete . . . . LOL. There is newer tech coming, but the 800 keeps finding stuff. It still works. Congrats on the Flying Eagle Cent. Rich -

Deus II 9" or 11" coil

I have similar thoughts about the selection - I've really loved my x35 9" coil. Watching a lot of the Deus 2 initial field tests makes me think that the 9" FMF coil is really deep for its' diameter - and i ask myself, "will the 11" give additional depth? or will it just cover more ground?"...

Anyone use spreadsheet to keep track of metal detecting

Yes, they can be expanded to be very extensive, but i found the more columns I included, the more my spreadsheet became unwieldy for me. My Other Finds column is a great place for me to list unique or unusual finds. Columns / categories can be added or subtracted as needed, no reason to...

While I (patiently) wait for my Deus II

The rusty tin is a problem in the western ghost towns. Hard to say if the bottle cap feature will be a benefit in that battle or not. The description sounds like a notch, but i'm not sure of that. It will be easy to tell as discrimination and notches show up as darkened areas on the...

    Some Racer 2 opinions?

Racer 2 is great for the ghost towns with a small coil or even the 7" concentric. With the stock 7x11 DD it does great for sports fields and has pretty impressive depth. Gregg will see your post and jump in with thoughts of his own. Rich

Anyone use spreadsheet to keep track of metal detecting

I mentioned above that i had site sheets that I used for many years before changing over to the spreadsheet. I went back and looked thru many of them. One of the things I like about the site sheets it that i can add to previous entries and get an overall idea of where i've hunted and how...

    2021 Year End Finds

Awesome display Dave and as I've watched your progress month to month and year over year, very consistent efforts on your part. I steer people your direction from other forums for a bit of 'inspiration' as to what's still out there just waiting for somebody using the right tools and putting in...

XP DEUS II WHAT IT IS NOT!

Hey Calabash, wanted to 2x check on a feature or lack thereof that i picked up on another video review - There was mention that the ID Norm function found on the Deus 1 under - PROFILE - no longer exists on the Deus 2 due to the FMF. It was further explained that with each mode, there are...

Anyone use spreadsheet to keep track of metal detecting

Yes, have done for a long time. My spreadsheet was Coin focused. I set mine up so i can have monthly totals of coins found - My columns are set for: Month-Date / Location / Detector / Coil / / Dollars / Halves / Quarters / Dimes / Nickels / Cu Cent / Wheaties / IHC / V Nickel / Buffalo Nickel...

    Digging with dinosaurs....

We received your storm. Took me about 3 1/2 hrs to shovel my big driveway. Had to do it in two halves and take a warm up break in between. Nine inches of snow and drifted snow plus the joy at the end of my driveway, the snow plow bank. I see why so many older homeowners have heart attacks out...
