    Biker ring?

For sure a neat find, looks to be sterling peeking out from under the dirt. ? ? ? ? I'm Anxious to see what's there.

    Biker ring?

Kinda cool find, really hard to see any details since YOU DIDNT EVEN CLEAN IT OFF. Help us out here Arkansas and give that bad boy ring a gentle cleaning with a toothbrush and warm water and see if there is more to be seen. Take another pic and lets have a better look. Looking forward to it...

1956 Gold Class Ring! and Other Silver rings / Silver coins and merchant tokens

Awesome display of finds Dave ! Inspiring - but then i step outside and it is 22* and I start thinking about a road trip somewhere SOUTH. Nice job. Rich -

Equinox 800 gray ghost deep woods platinum headphones

I get that. Early after the equinox came out, i purchased the Minelab UW headphones. Complete waste of $$$ for using while I am wading with head above water. Everybody had the same result - disappointment. Perhaps they are better underwater. I have used my 800 with a couple different...

Equinox 800 gray ghost deep woods platinum headphones

I was going to make exact same suggestions as laplander. But you've covered those. Are you listening to Toby Keith in the background while you're detecting ? You've had your hearing checked I assume ? ? ? ? ? Best of luck getting it worked out. Rich -

    Manticore vs Legend

Some real truth to that. If a detector sticks with me, i generally get to know it very well - all of the good and bad. Surely the manufacturers are aware of those pro's and con's and can work on improving their next Generation of a detector if they want to. Whether the next model is a...

    Manticore vs Legend

Hey nauti, if we had to back up 25 years in technology for some crazy reason and use detectors from 1997, what 2 detectors would you choose for the hunting you like to do? Back in '97' I was sporting a CZ-6a and pretty much hunting the yards of old homes and a few public areas like old parks...

LOL - now that's the spirit Nauti - :ROFLMAO:

    Manticore vs Legend

I think you sell the newer detectors short. My original explorer xs can't touch the recovery speed and target handling of the 800. Nor could it go gold nugget detecting. Nor would i take it shallow water hunting where there was a possibility it could get soaked. AND . . . . the weight. There...

    Manticore vs Legend

No Significant impact in find rates? Your results differ from mine. A lot. However, you make a very true and powerful point - Use what works. And I'll add, Be SMART in changes to what you use. Whatever you decide to use, there is still WORK involved. Best of luck in the field. Rich -

    Manticore vs Legend

Water inside a control housing is a pretty big turn off. I've used mine a lot in the shallow water, but not as a submersible. And you're right, this needs / needed a hardware fix, not a software upgrade. And then there are the coil ears that lack structural intergrity for those poor souls...

I'm starting to get irritated with this nox 600... it is so freaking susceptible to emi interference ....

Every once in a while, I get into an area with bad Electromagnetic Interference. If the noise cancel or reduction in sensitivity doesn't remediate the trouble, simply select a single frequency that is not impacted by the EMI. Like JimmyCT, I have good success using 15khz. My D2 went thru the...

    Manticore vs Legend

I do agree that Minelab has their marketing group celebrate the release of new detectors. But if I go back 20+ years, all of the big splash detectors I used were hits when it came to sales/performance. I'm thinking the Explorer Series, Etrac, Equinox and now . . . . . what's it called again...

My season is coming to a close...

End of season approaching . . . ditto . . . . . . i have 2 more days of nice fall weather and then boom, it is 20's low / 40's high for the foreseeable future. ;) Then it is hit and miss for unfrozen ground and temps i can tolerate. Been a bit of a slow year for me - so i'm trying to get out...

    A Quick Shallow Water Hunt

Hank - that brings a smile to my face. Reminds me of that British series, The Detectorists. I appreciate the offer, but i already have 1287 versions of that particular style - March 1972 / February 1974 - Pepsico x-wide flange, 12 fl oz can. :ROFLMAO:. Pretty sure you can sell it on...

    A Quick Shallow Water Hunt

Definitely fresh water - long drive from my house to the ocean. We do have the Great Salt Lake - but with the Western drought, it has diminished significantly. Thanks for the comments. Very True . . that's a good way to look at it. Rich -

    A Quick Shallow Water Hunt

I had about 90 minutes for this shallow water hunt - No gold this time, but did manage a pair of silver rings. The smaller is .925, the larger of the two with the opal is unmarked but appears distinctly silver and it quite a looker. The dark wedding bands are tungsten carbide, one with koa wood...

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COIN DESIGN?

Design? US Walking Liberty Half. Beautiful coin. The US coins from that era stand out as beautiful designs - buffalo nickel, mercury dime, standing liberty quarter, even the Peace Dollar. They have real style, each a little piece of art you can hold in your hand. There are other designs...
