    Lost ID

Found my second Social Security plate Saturday. My first had a Flying Eagle as the center picture. This one has a Capital Building in the center. Anyone know when these metal SS cards were issued? I know the family so it will be returned to them. It reads: Social Security Registered with the...

    All Around Hunting

Went south with six other hunters and we all did OK. My finds include two Civil War Bullets, a grommet, camp lead and what might be a scabbard tip. Also a 1950 wheat cent, two plated rings and a 1949 Hoop Net Commercial Fishing Tag. The flag was rescued from the leaves beside a cemetery and will...

    After the race

    After the race

Five club members cleaned up after the state cross country tournament at a local park. It pays to keep your eyes open because amongst the leaves was green. I rescued $23.94, 1950-D dime and a nice wristwatch.

    Beach hunting local lake

Depends on trash content. I scan with a 10 DD in somewhat clean beaches. Many of these beaches have had many campfires on them over the years with melted cans. We have these on the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers. Then you have to pay attention to target size. Lake beaches are pretty clean if...

    Out & About

Daryl wanted a hunting partner so I gracefully accepted. After $2.14 in clad coins I still didn't have any coin older than a 1960 nickel. But I did rescue a sterling silver earing, old ornate strap buckle and a 1926 Putnam Co. Dog Tag. I went home happy.

I asked for help and volunteers came forth. Here is the meeting. No time to get more tables so we used the floor for the displays. Worked out ok.

It all depends on the soil. You have a great place to keep looking for more. Go all metal and remove all masking objects. Good luck.
