    moisture?

    Lots of SNOW, but 50's by Saturday. Still winter till Next Monday. Look at it as good ground moisture. If you want to detect now ask Nancy, she will tell you where to go. :devil: Maybe we can hope for snow at our spring hunt.

    Happy Turkey Day

    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving all. Still waiting for a snow forecast so I can invite Nancy out to detect in it. :angel: We just could not hear enough about the last time we snow hunted. :devil:

    Junky Hunt

    On a lake shore with low water level I hunted the first five feet where water is normally. Highly junky so I used Relic mode and recovered the coin signals. The ring might be Tungsten, big but read out at 19. Been hunting this lake for many years along with many others. Still has goodies to...

    Promised myself

    Promised myself I would get silver today. Along with a 1936 Quarter I rescued a Ring, 1937 and 1953 Nickels and seven Wheat Cents. Too bad I don't listen to myself more often. :shrug:

    Qualified

    Went to the park after work looking at the area of the last cross country track meet. $1.32 in clad along with this award pin someone mislaid two years ago to my benefit. Pin is still in it's original packaging.

    Club Fun Hunt

    Had fun hunting a park I have never been to. I took home $2.56 in clad coins with the oldest being a 1964-D cent. A Nice jeweled pin, Angel Medallion, Canada Cent, and trash. Weight of my finds good and bad was 2.75 pounds which earned me a clean up prize at the end of the hunt. I hear a couple...

    Lake Story Closed

    On Sept 2, 2016 Officials closed the Lake Story Beach due to a sanitary pump failure allowing waste water to flow into the lake causing significant unsafe bacterial levels. Touching the water is not advised and washing hands, shoes and gloves is strongly encouraged for those who do.

    Rio Beach detecting anyone?

    I have seen some bad beaches to detect but this is beyond bad. I feel sorry for the Olympic swimmers.

    Nickels of many

    Went to Kewanee, went to a park, found nickels. 19 within a 3 foot diameter all 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 inch depth. Fun is in the finding.

    I went down to Laura Bradley Park to see if we left anything after the club hunt. Kids have been replenishing the tot lots. What surprised me was all the NOT shiny coins I found.     July4th hunt

    Went out tent camping and had a very fun weekend. My wife gets the sterling pendant I found. Clad goes for batteries. A Skeleton Key, some wheat cents and a 1948 nickel rounds out the display along with a 1913 PENNY.
