Here is what I got on Oct 8th and posted a cleaned up version on Oct 13. And last year I did better. The 4X6 DD sniper coil does good. Here is a post from our club site and what we are about. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?78,1561681,1561963#msg-1561963

    Lake mud hunting part two

Back on Oct 13 I posted a pic of six old coins I rescued from the exposed lake bed after the yearly draw down of the water. I asked our club members if anyone would like to return with me to find more but got NO takers. Yes, I know your down south Larry. So I went back looking for more...

A new Return to Owner winner

Went hunting with my Wife and a Gentleman asked if we could look for his Cross. He lost his Dad when he was four, received his Dad's cross from his Mother when he was eight. He wore it always but lost it five days ago at this ball diamond just outside short stop position. Pam rescued the Cross...

    Lake mud hunting

Went out to a local lake that is drawn down every year. Used my 4x6 DD sniper coil and cleaned up between the trash. Many coils have searched this shoreline this year and past years. Coins are getting scarcer cause I did better last year. The black mud does pit and stain the silver but...

    A Return

After work I stopped at where we had our last club hunt. I only had a half hour to detect and get home. :yikes: A backhoe was finishing digging the last new launch pad for Frisbee golf. 8ft X 4ft X 6 inch depth and nine of them waiting for me. I scrambled out and remembered I still had my sniper...

    Lake effect

Went out this morning to a local lake that is drawn down every year. My outing did as usual as last year. The lake edge is very trashy and most THers stay about ten feet from the edge using thier standard coils. I use my White's V3i with a 4X6 DD eliptical sniper coil and do quite well in the...

    Around the field

Took the grandkids to the school playground and noticed the grounds around the ball diamond was tilled. Found 9 quarters, 13 dimes, 2 nickels and 13 cents. Also an earing, toy car and a sterling silver ring with blue stone in the shape of a heart. Not bad from a place I can see from my own backyard.

    Gold Coin VDI's

I have air scanned a $5 gold coin and it reads out at 49. I set my detector to high tone 48-49-50 so I can check these signals. Sure the gound and trash might skew the signal but most will be caught. History shows that the most lost gold coin was a $5. People actially earned a dollar a day and...

    After work

With he threat of rain tomorrow I decided to get out to a park for a while. Stopped by Robinson Park near Mossville IL and rescued a 1917 cent and a Chilicothe ILL Fire Dept. Badge. Also found out I have sore muscles from last weekends hunt. OUCH Almost glad for the rain so I can recover.

    Dairy Token

Was in Kewanee, IL in a private yard and rescued this token from a five inch depth. Allison's Dairy, Kewanee, ILL. Good for 1/2 pint of cream. It is not in the Illinois Merchant Token Book so might be unique or very rare. I have more research to do.

    Camp Out

I plan to have the night hunt Friday Night at Dusk, all targets will be on the surface, no dogging. We will use the same field for the Saturday hunt so anything missed should be rescued then.
