    Ok - I have to ask ....

    Has anyone repeatedly hunted for Civil War relics with the ctx3030 ? I understand that it's a coin/silver magnet but it does have a factory pre-set RELIC search mode and would like some feedback if you have used it for that purpose. Has anyone tried the RELIC mode ? Thanks. CCH

    Ok. Its getting too HOT to metal detect down here !

    So..... now is the time to do some good research for the fall. Work on getting permission. I will work on scouting out some new farm fields and start talking to farmers. What about you guys ? CCH

    Today's Detecting Finds ... :detecting:

    Went out today for a few hours of CW relic hunting. Couldn't get anyone to come along but managed a few goodies by myself. (Iron Canister shot , fired Enfield , 2 ring bullet, rivets , round balls , old buttons etc) Its getting HOT down this way. CCH

    Here are some finds & relics from the last 2 hunts. I was happy to get the sharps and hankins bullet. Also a dropped .69 cal and what I believe may be a piece of a trigger guard (but not sure). Thanks and good luck. CCH

    Louisiana Militia (1840s-1860s) Pelican Cuff Button. Lots of gold gilt remaining ! Scovill mfg co. :rolleyes: Only 4" down. Cleaned up petty nice. CCH

    The " HUNTED OUT " Field . . . :shrug:

    . . . Keeps on giving them up ???? Nice long Enfield, several musket and canister balls, 2 iron canister balls, misc shell frags , brass rivet etc. Used the F75 in all-metal mode.

    Pretty Good Day Diggin Yesterday .....:detecting:

    Found a few bullets , .69 cal, .58 cal, .54 cal , musket balls, camp lead , buck ball , misc rivets etc. and a hat company letter "N" . Hunted an area that has been pounded for 30 + years. Ran the F75 at 99 sens all metal. It was a good day of digging yesterday near Port Hudson. CCH

    I bought the Garrett pro-pinpointer from Flintstone with no problems. He offered it at a very fair price and it was in great condition so i immediately told him i would take it at the price he wanted. I would recommend doing business with him to anyone on the forum. CCH

    Hunted a soybean field near an old Civil War Hospital house. I know that this description or term is used "loosely" in the detecting community but this one is very well documented. Some of the wood floors in the house still have a dark tint as evidence from ole sawbones doing what he could do...

    We went out again today and made a few finds. The weather was sunny and cool. Love to hunt in the "winter" here as the temps were in the low to mid 60's. Loved this carved bullet from a sharps carbine , the .36 cal pistol bullet, finial , variety of pistol bullets, umbrella piece Enfield...
