Sun Ray Invader FX-1 Work with Teknetics?

I thought I read somewhere, maybe on a UK forum, that someone tried using a Sun Ray FX-1 with their T2 and it worked fine - can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks.

F/S DetectorPro Pistol Probe - Exc Cond $135 Shipped

Probe in excellent condition, used half a dozen times. Scratches on probe consistent with its use. Rest of probe is scratch-free, like new condition. Includes holster and original box. A nice unit, works well - excellent depth. If you wrap yellow tape at base of probe and at end of handle it...

Gamma with 5" coil - Ground Grab Working Right?

I just received a 5" coil for my Gamma. When I try to Ground Grab, while pumping the coil I get that "pinball machine gone wild" sound and the display does not lock into a GB number as with my 11" coil, it just keeps making the noise and numbers flick by. I've tried it on a number of ground...

WTT Euro Sabre w/2 coils for Teknetics Gamma

Seeking functional used Teknetics Gamma in trade for used Tesoro Euro Sabre with stock 12x10 coil+cover and 4" concentric coil+cover. Functionally 10/10 (matches my Eldorado uMax in air tests). Cosmetically 9.5/10, 12x10 coil is cosmetically 8/10 (scratches from use by previous owner from using...

Fisher 1210-X Automatic Ground Balancing Really Preset?

I've gotten a good deal on a Fisher 1210-X, and am wondering if it truly has "automatic ground balancing" as this review from Lost Treasure from February 1985 states... "Automatic ground balancing is another feature the 1210-X has inherited from its older brothers. This electronic breakthrough...

Head-to-head: X-70 vs. DFX vs. Eldorado

I thought I'd share a "real-world" head-to-head test (not an air test) I did between a Minelab X-70 and a Whites DFX and a Tesoro Eldorado. I'm trying to decide between the X-70 and DFX. I'd like a (75%) coinshooting / (20%) beach / (5%) prospecting VID unit to complement my Eldorado. See the...

Head-to-head: Eldorado vs. X-70 vs. DFX

I thought I'd share a "real-world" head-to-head test (not an air test) I did between a Tesoro Eldorado, a Minelab X-70 and a Whites DFX. I'm trying to decide between the X-70 and DFX. It's a given for me that the Eldorado's a keeper, though I wanted to see how it'd perform against the other...

Head-to-head trials: Xterra 70 or DFX best for me?

Head-to-head trials: Xterra 70 or DFX best for me? I'm sharing my findings, hoping this is useful to others. I'm posting this comparison at this forum, and will refer others at the Whites and Tesoro forum to this post. **Warning this is a long post, with lots of details,so if you'd like, jump...

5.75" coil - is it a uMax concentric?

I got a 5.75" coil for a Tesoro, with 5 pins; it seems to work okay on my Eldorado. The 5.75" concentric coil I had on a Compadre was about 1" thick with 1/8" or so radiused edges. This coil is 1/2" thick with a 1/4" bevel on the upper edge, and a 1/8" or so radiused lower edge. It's all white...

Whites Goldmaster 66TR - why 2 battery packs?

I received a Vintage Goldmaster 66TR with 2 heads - why did it require two AA battery packs? One for 8 batteries and one for 6 batteries? The person that had it claims "it works fine" with just the 9V. Then why 12V needed? Thanks.

Found Silver Ring on 1st Outing with 3.5"x18" Coil

I received the Tesoro umax 3.5" x 18" coil in the mail this week and took it out on an Eldorado today - just down the street to a "new" soccer field that was created in 2003. After 30 mins of productively detecting a 3' band around the sidelines (with such a wide head I could cover lots of...

Vaquero or Eldorado Best for Mineralized Soil?

I thought I'd ask a previous question I posted a bit differently, in hopes of helping me make a decision. Firsthand experience with both units is greatly appreciated. I have the opportunity to get a used Vaquero or Eldorado, each at roughly the same price(!). Assuming both units have 9x8...

    Which X-Terra Coils are Waterproof?

I just recently got a used X70, and love it! The 10x5 DD 18.75 kHz coil is fantastic too! I didn't realize this coil is not waterproof, until I read about it here. So which coils are waterproof? I'm wanting to know for beach hunting.I couldn't find reference to this at Minelab's site. Thanks!

Coins and Jewelry, Parks and Beaches: Eldorado or Vaquero?

HI I'm mostly MDing for coins and jewelry primarily in the Portland OR/Western WA area (high mineralization) in parks and river/fresh beaches with occassional saltwater beach. I'm trying to figure out, for what I'm doing, if the HOT coils and 14 khz on the Vaq outweighs the value of a true all...

Compadre in Pac NW - worth keeping as 2nd unit?

I recently picked up a used Compadre as a second/easy-to-use loaner/keep-in-the-car unit. I've learned that the highly mineralized soil around Portland requires me to turn down the sensitivity to reduce "falsing" which in turn reduces the depth of detection too. I'm wondering if its my...

Compadre - tweaking GB. Hole to access pot?

I'm finding that the Compadre would work a lot better around here if I readjusted the preset GB (I'm finding that I use a fairly consistent GB setting at the parks around here) - I saw on another post where the pot on the Compadre circuit board is located. Given how clear the front panel on the...
