    Any Air Gunners?!

I have been using air rifles for pest control for years. My current rifle is a Umarex Octane 22 caliber. I took out an entire family of woodchucks. All shots were 50-60 yards. A very nice gun for the money.

    Coil warranty

I would be in the same position as you. I will say that this would never have happened with the old companies we have dealt with for years. Great products from these international companies, but at their mercy when something breaks. Hopefully the dealer will step up and offer some help. Good...

I have found 90% of my older coins in the 8 inch range. Found a large cent from 14 inches once with an Explorer XS.

    What are the odd's?

"O" mint marks are hard to find. For that matter, seated dimes are hard to find. Great story and great finds!

Deus 2 most anticipated release ever..

I like his videos, but I am with you about his "ability to get the worse out of everyone who disagrees with him" I for one wish he would post his opinions and then shut the F up.

Is this a time to buy a used detector

I have a feeling the market is going to be flooded with used detectors real soon. To be honest, the Equinox absolutely ruined the used detector market. It use to be you could sell a used detector for close to what you paid for it. Not anymore! There are some proven detectors that people will be...

What are your beliefs about metal detector? Old Tech VS New?

An interesting subject for sure. I had always believed that an old Fisher CZ,Explorer, Whites DFX_XLT could find most of what some of the newer detectors find. A couple of years back, I had an interesting encounter with a guy with a brand new Deus. I was at a park where I had found many newer...

Teaching A New Guy About Detecting

Monte, I have two Garrett Ace Apexs and I sold one of them to the new guy. The Apex is a very under-rated detector. It is very accurate and has very nice depth, as the new guy's quarter shows. I sold him the one with the 8.5x11 coil. I kept the one with the Viper coil. The F5 is equipped with...

Teaching A New Guy About Detecting

Last week I sold a metal detector to a local young man. I spent about an hour showing him how to use it in my test garden. Mind you, this guy has never swung a detector and I did not feel that he had even a basic "grasp" of what I was attempting to teach or show him. Yesterday I got an email...

What's your favorite all around Garrett

My first good detector was a gtax750 and when I got that detector I started finding silver coins. I found 3,000 coins in one month with it. It still has a place in my heart. At Pro was unbelievable for me and I bonded quickly. I found so many Indians with that detector in the first year at...

    Omega 8500

Great write-up. The 8500 is feature packed and it seems that you have it figured out completely. Your explanation of the deep filters was excellent. I had came to the same conclusion, but you did a much better job explaining than I could. I have had several of the newer mid priced detectors...

    Gray Ghost Wireless Headphones

88 junior, Detector Pro use to have the best customer service around. I had emailed the new owner several times about my warranty and never heard back. Companies should not give an email address if they don't answer. I have a pair of Gray Ghost Ultimates and I love them, but when they break, I...

    Revolutionary War Broken Bayonet

I inherited a broken bayonet that my great aunt passed on to me many years ago. Her first husband bought or found it in Boston during their yearly history vacation. This was in 1940. She told me it came from Bunker Hill. I cannot verify that, but can verify that they had this artifact in their...

    Angles again……

I have found some old coins in places I have gridded from two angles and then I get a perfect signal that I can't believe I missed. Try this when you dig a good one way signal. Go into all metal and sweep the area of the plug. Many times I get an iron or junk signal that has only left a small...
