    Whites "Flagship" Detector ?

In my opinion, the XLT is White's greatest detector. I have several friends who still use this detector with great success. They work great and are one of the most durable detectors ever made. They sure have had many good detectors over the years. It is still hard for me to see them gone. Most...

Just wanted to show what a little help from Elmy done for me.

Really nice coins. The Etrac is a great detector and Elmy is great guy. A great combination!

Detectors that have stood the test of time.

The factory had a fire and they stopped production, but an employee I believe named Steve Goss took over the operation, It was really the end of a great company. Anyway, I sent my detector in and had it "juiced up" by Steve before they completely closed. . They had two models of this detector...

Detectors that have stood the test of time.

Compass Coinscanner and Fisher CZ5 were two great older detectors that will still work. I traded a Whites QXT Pro for the Compass with a 8 inch and 12 inch coil. That detector had the sweetest tones I have ever used. I sure wish I had kept some of my past detectors, but being "poor" meant...

    Etrac-Pounded Park What Happens Next?

I have been using my new Legend for the last couple of weeks and I am starting to believe in this detector. I found a handful of wheat pennies and loads of nickels with the Legend at my favorite park. Last Friday I decided to grab the Etrac and grid some small areas of this park where I have...

    Pulled a deep one today

Thanks. My settings are almost the same as yours. I am really liking this detector. Have a great fall detecting.

    Pulled a deep one today

Great find. I am finding coins at this depth routinely and as you say, pretty accurate tones and numbers. What are you settings?

    Ground Balancing the Anfibio

Dean, pump the coil until it beeps once. It will keep beeping if you keep pumping it.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COIN DESIGN ?

I have found most all of the coins from the 1800's to present, but without a doubt, in my personal opinion, the Mercury dime is the prettiest designed coin. Not at all rare, but pretty non the less.

    AT Max price

I have tried to sell three different detectors in the last couple of years and could not sell them for any price close to being reasonable. I believe that this all started when the Nox came out. The market got flooded with used detectors and buyers were in their glory. Like new used detectors...

    Etrac Still Viable?

I had a cool morning so I took the "old" Etrac to my heavily hunted park. I was not expecting much, but was hoping for at least a wheatie or two. Recently, I get skunked at this park at least one out of three times. The glory days are long gone. The first two coins were old, green wheats that...

All that glitters is not gold...or silver.

Jim, I tell my wife that people who metal detect are trained to look down. She always laughs at me for constantly looking down for money. I bet she wouldn't laugh at you!

    GTI 2500

As most have said "there are better detectors for far less money. But, you never said if you were buying used or new. If you can get the 2500 for a great deal, I would buy it. They are an excellent coin detector, but not in trashy sites. I would chose an Equinox, Legend, or Apex in no particular...

New Garrett Release Coming Very Soon

Monte, I whole heartedly agree. I would much prefer accuracy over raw depth. I would hope for a "juiced up" Apex for Garrett's next release.

Does anyone know of / or recall a comprehensive operators book for a Whites....

Carl, my bad. I can't believe I missed the detector model mentioned!

Does anyone know of / or recall a comprehensive operators book for a Whites....

Mark, I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but a fellow named Eric Foster wrote a very detailed DFX and MXT books. Very tech oriented and somewhat hard for me to understand. "Digging Deeper with DFX" and "MXT Edge"

Two Times Out with Repaired Etrac

I got my Etrac back from the repair center a week ago and I have used it twice for a total of four hours. First, it is great to have it back functioning like new and I have so much confidence in it, that it would be hard to use another detector. Last Tuesday I only hunted for less than two hours...

    Got Etrac Back From Repair

Well, it took a month to get my Etrac repaired, but all seems good now. When the tech finally got my Etrac in his hands, you could not ask for a better experience. He kept me informed daily and was not ready to send it back until he was sure it was functioning correctly. Good news was no...

    Multi Kruzer or Anfibio

I believe the Anfibio Multi is deeper, but it could just be the 11 inch coil on the Anfibio. I have an interesting tidbit about the Impact. I put a 11 inch Anfibio style coil on the Impact and I immediately found a 10 inch deep Walker half and a similar depth mercury dime. Both came from heavily...

Out With The AT Pro Coin Shooting. Ordered A New Coil For the APEX

John, congratulations on your semi-retirement. I put the 8.5x11 (same size as stock AT Pro) coil on my Apex and it is nearly the perfect coil. Garrett sure does have their coil technology down pat. No reason for any after-market coils.
