Anyone still using the racer or racer 2?

I still occasionally use mine. The concentric coil for it still does things my newer and more expensive one can't. I do wish every one of my detectors had the pinpoint toggle like it does.

Charging problem with new hf elliptical coil

You might try unpairing and then repairing it. That helped on my pinpointer. If it doesn't help, it only costs time.

    shout out and question

While examining the Equinox 600/800 manual, I found out that clicking on any part of the table of contents section takes me to that page. For instance, click on target tone and it takes you immediately to page 42. This is very handy and sure saves time scrolling to find the information. I wish...

Thank you very much, fwcrawford, I do appreciate it.

Is there any way to tell on the Equinox 800 what version it is?

    Minimal notch ?

If the signals annoy you, it only makes sense to notch them out. Personally, they don't bother me. If I don't like what I hear, I don't dig it.

Anyone tried this with their detectors

Okay, maybe I have the original carbon fiber one and also the plastic one. Also, my original mid shaft was aluminum, I just went out and checked. I know it will pick up small gold but that is not the question. The question is does the carbon fiber one reduce sensitivity to small gold...

Anyone tried this with their detectors

I have a Legend and 6 inch coil and I have both the original plastic shaft and the new carbon fiber one. I also have a small nugget (don't know the weight but most of my detectors do not see it) and some dust. I also have some #9 lead shot. When I get time, I will see what results I get with...

Is this Blue Lace Agate or something else?

Maybe Geologyhound can shed some light on the subject. That is one beautiful rock! Nice photography too!

    You are most welcome.

    messing around in beast mode

While I was out detecting, I took a broken iron circle maybe ¾" diameter and ⅛" thick. I poked it down into the sand, which is very mineralized, a couple of inches and engaged beast mode. Iron rejection was at default 0. I got the same signal I got on a dime. When I turned the IR to 2, the...

Teknetics T2 SE is it really as good as they say.

There are Nel and Detech coils listed on big auction site. I have a Nel Tornado for mine which is usually somewhat deeper than the stock one unless the ground is too mineralized. Some people had trouble ground balancing with large coils. I have had places where the Tornado didn't want to...

Teknetics T2 SE is it really as good as they say.

Keith Southern, one of the best relic hunters, says it is one of his favorite detectors which, in my opinion, says a lot. I have an old non updated one, very "sparky", that I have used for a quite a few years and found me more coins than any of my other ones. There is a forum thread about...

    Possible CW bullet?

Both are much smaller than .60 caliber. The 38 caliber was .36" and the 44 was about .45". Closest I can find in Civil War Bullet and Cartridges is .58 caliber RM, diameter .568, length .86, weight 416 grains. It is called the "one-ring insert" or "Tyler, Texas Enfield, cast in the South.

Depth modification of detector circuit boards.

More power to the coil doesn't necessarily make it deeper. I can increase the transmit power to my Deus coil but in my high mineralization areas, it is counterproductive. Here is some information from Dave Johnson, engineer of many great detectors...

Depth modification of detector circuit boards.

Amplifying a signal just makes it louder, not deeper. If the detector won't hit a dime at 10 inches, making it louder isn't going to make a difference.

Manticore vs Legend Highly On Highly Mineralised Ground

It is just the opposite on the Legend and I believe, the Equinox too..

Cross reference coil treasure tech Cabela's 5-in coil?

It uses the same coils as the Greek Teknetics models like the Eurotek and Omegas.

    Detech Arrow

I have one for the Teknetics T2 and I love the way it works in any mode. You can cover huge amounts of ground in a short time. It is not a problem to swing fast, is very sensitive, and it separates very well. With the T2, and I bet the F75 too, it will go pretty deep in the BP and CL modes...
