    In the field re-charge...

Do any of you guys have recommendations for power supply to carry along on long days? For recharging phone or headphones mainly. I’d like to have something I can charge at home and stick in my back pack for all day hunts, just in case I need it. Thanks!

    Picked up a Nox 800

I’ve read the manual over and over. Also read sabich’s book on the equinox. Both good. I would also tell you that calabash digger videos on the equinox have been helpful as well. Find solid targets, switch between modes to check it and then dig it. You’ll find what suits your style pretty quick.

Are there any new updates for the Equinox, would sure like to see a clock

Detecting is my escape from the clock!🤣

Did I dig a 1500s coin in the States??

I respectively disagree with detecta. The example is in new condition. The find is well worn. Even the symbol under the E is a match.

Did I dig a 1500s coin in the States??

The shape that appears to be an E looks exactly the same on both examples. I think you’re correct!

    Cover for Equinox 600

I Bought the black canvas/clear front model off of fleabay. $18.49. Been totally happy with it. My machine takes a beating in the woods and my hands are always dirty/sandy.

#1 Find of 2020 and #1 Bucket Lister of 2021

#1 find for 2020 is the USA button. #1 find for 2021 is Spanish silver. Not picky about which type.

    Shovel for metal detecting.

I use a White’s Ground Hawg shovel and love it. Works good for me in the woods and in places I have to be clean. My Buddy bought a Lowe’s shovel and cut it to his ideal digger. Both good options in my opinion.

Okie, the state parks leave it up to the head park ranger to decide if it’s ok or not. Most of our beaches get hit pretty hard by the old school pros. If you find good stuff at the beach, it probably hit the dirt very recently. Still nice to go walk the beach with a machine from time to time.

Thereabout okie. No detecting in st Augustine though. The head archaeologist sees us as the enemy. Totally illegal unless on private property with permission. Lots of history in the area though.

    800 Threshold?

I’ve seen no depth difference. I typically keep it to where I can’t hear the threshold. Sometimes when I’m in very trashy spots I will set the threshold so I can tell when I am passing over iron or something I have notched out.

    Help with button ID

Steve The history lessons are greatly appreciated. I’m quite happy with this find. Adds a little more mystery to the ground it came from. At least lightly ironic that this button is in better shape than nearly any other that I’ve found.
