    Today's oldies...........

Got skunked on silver today but did manage 6 wheat's 1913,1918,1928,1929,1941, and ????. Went out to Bixby Park in Long Beach this morning. I detected about 3 1/2 hours and I was just cherry picking for deep hits. Lots of iron and trash. The last two times here with my SE I didn't even find a...

Some wheat's and a few silver...........

Not too much to show yet but I'm still in auto sensitivity and the factory coin mode. All from spots that have been hit hard and all where mixed in or close to trash. The religious medal and the arcade token came in at 12/39 (too bad all my screw caps are coming in at 12/39 too). The tiny silver...

    For you gold ring seekers......................

I scanned 44 gold rings tonight and below are my results. I made a gold program and I'l going to try it tomorrow morning at a park. I'll be digging a bunch of trash but what the heck, it's learning experience, right :detecting: HH Randy 12/02: 2 rings 12/03: 6 rings 12/04: 8...

One of my favorite coin finds.....................

This was my 1st buffalo nickel. The picture doesn't do it justice. It has a great green hue to it that makes the face really stick out. The odd thing about this find was that I found it at the beach in 2001 or 2002. I was in Long Beach one day and saw these huge trucks moving sand around on the...

    New scoop from Reilly's................................

UPS came to day with a scoop that my family bought me for my birthday. The scoop is great but I'm really disappointed in the weld job. I've bought scoops from them before. This the first time this has happened. What do you think?

    Latest Finds..................................

I was at Santa Monica Beach on 11th and today. The first photo was from today. Only one silver ring and a junk earring. Also got just under $8.00 in change. Think some mean S.O.B threw a bunch of zincs in the wet sand to be funny :detecting:. I dug at least 30 and most were deep in the wet sand...

    Scored some gold....................

Got out to hit low tide at Santa Monica on Thursday. 5:00am -11:00am. This place is right next to the pier and you can always count on at least two or three other guys detecting when you get there. I was surprised to find no one there. Hit a ring right off the bat. Thought it was costume jewelry...

Finds from last two times out....................

I haven't been out much this year and I've just started to get back out there. Got the 14k gold wedding band in the wet sand at Zuma Beach. I got the silver ring at Santa Monica beach in the dry sand while I was testing out my new F-75. I got lucky with the rings and not much else. HH Randy

    Question on gold?

I found a small wedding band this morning. It's a little bigger than a dime and weighs 5.7 grams. I was using the Se and got a nice high tone and before I dug it out I checked the digital reading and it read 04-27. Thought it was going to be a dime and was surprised to see what looked like a...

Finds for last 4 or five weeks............

I'm normally a dirt fisher but because it's been hot this summer I've been hitting the beach. I do go to the beach a few times a month through out the year but lately I've been going two or three times a week for an average of around 5 hours. I don't like to go when all the people are there so...

    The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach............

Were going on a cruise in May and were staying a couple of days at the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach before we leave. Does anyone know if they allow detecting on the beach in front of the hotel? HH Randy

    My modest finds from yesterday.......

Yesterdays finds: 7 wheat's, one 1942 war nickel, one duck charm, one religious medal, and a round lead ball (that was deep and read 07-25). I like digging those deep 07-25 readings. They sometimes surprise you. I was hoping for some silver dimes but kept getting wheat's. Maybe next time. HH Randy

I hate those deep wet sand pennies.........

I don't detect the beach like I use to a few years ago. I'm mainly into dirt fishing now but I still like to hit the beach a few times a month. It's been ages since I've done an 8 hours day at the beach carrying a 6 pound sand scoop. Low tide was at 3:34 pm and I arrived at Santa Monica beach...

3rd time out with the T-2

[attachment 46580 IMG_0604.JPG][attachment 46581 IMG_0605.JPG]I didn't have much time to detect yesterday but I was able to get out to a local park for about 3 hours. I tried the 2+ tone mode this time. Sensitivity set at 70 and discrimination set at 10. I was just cherry picking deep hits. I...

    Already got the replacement T-2

I was surprised that Teknetics got the detector here so quickly. I opened her up and she went together very easy this time and everything works fine. Now I have to get out there and practice with it. It's been pretty cold here lately. We even had snow in the hills of Malibu, Calif today. HH Randy

    Todays finds!!!!!!

My buddy and I hit a huge lot that the city bought and is turning it into a park. The lot is next to China town in Los Angeles, Calif. They use to grow corn on it. I was using the SE and Sunrays 12.5" coil. Ferrous mode, zero discrimination, gain at 5, sensitivity at 27 auto. The place is loaded...

    Not a good start.................

Bought a T2 and it arrived today. Connected the lower shaft to the coil. No problem. Then went to insert the upper rod and it took and act of god to get it in. I still have to get the button to pop all the way through the hole. Connected the rest of the detector, put in the batteries and fired...

I wish this ring was real!

I hit Zuma beach this morning and got a zinc reading in a washed out sand castle. When I saw the stones sparkle I thought I had found a good one. When I saw the size of the stone I thought I could retire :). Then I saw the brass peeking out on one side of the ring. OH well! It got my blood...

    Question about Cabo San Lucas?

I'm heading for Cabo tomorrow for 5 days. I'm taking my Headhunter Diver with me. I just heard the sand is highly mineralized over there. Will the headhunter diver work well over there? I have an Explorer, CZ 7Apro, and a Sandshark PI machine with the new 18" PI Bigfoot coil. Would one of these...
