    Question about xp deus and orx

    The ORX uses or can use the X35 coils and the two HF coils. It can't use the earlier LF coils. The WS4 headphones will not work with the ORX. The ORX wireless headphones are the WS Headphones.

    S rod for the equinox

    Your CZ 70 mod looks really good. Only issue I see is that the distance from the grip to the arm cuff looks pretty short. I think for shorter arms it would work well but for my long arms, the cuff would be too close to my wrist.

    S rod for the equinox

    I decided to try the counter weight idea as many folks like it. I had a hard time wanting to add weight to the detector. These pictures show the 1/2" ratchet extension and a large 16 oz socket as that's what most folks need to balance it out. With the S rod, I don't think it needs the counter...

    Some photos. Last photo shows Fisher Arm cuff with Sheep Skin Cuff Muff, cool in the summer, warm in the winter. 1/2" ratchet extension for attaching large socket for counter balance (I don't use).

    I changed mine to an S rod. Having been a White's dealer in the past and using White's detectors for about 20 years, I had lots of White's parts laying around so that's how i went. I used the S rod from a MXT or DFX $19.50 if you buy new from White's. White's lower rods for my Nox coils $19.50...

    The Deus is a great DRY sand beach detector. It not a good saltwater or saltwater wet sand detector. You'd be better off with a Equinox 600 or 800. These will work great on the dry sand as well as on the wet sand or in saltwater. I have the XP and the Minelab. Minelab all the way for hunting...

    We need to know what part of the country you live in. What type of hunting you plan to do. Your experience level. How much you're willing to spend, etc. Oterwise you'll get answers like, "it's a good detector and you should get the xxxxx coil.

    Anyone been/felt threatened while detecting?

    Years ago, a club member was detecting a So Cal beach. A teenager approached and started asking questions about detecting. He asked if if could try it and as soon as he had it in his hands he took off running. Detector was never seen again.

    The service center can replace a bad battery in the X35 coil.
