    Coiltek 10" x 5" coil for Equinox

COS - With DD coils the width plays a much bigger part in the coils depth verses the length. I would guess the 5" x 10" coil will have about the same depth as the 6" Minelab coil. Won't know until I receive mine and have a chance to use it.

    Coiltek 10" x 5" coil for Equinox

The 5" x 10" being only 5 inches wide offers better left to right separation than even the 6" Minelab coil while still offering the front to back coverage of a 10" coil. Kind of a "best of both" the the 6" and 11" coils. A compromise of the two, if you will. It should be as deep as the 6" but...

Will Bluetooth earbuds work with the Deus/ORX ???

I tried using a BT transmitter plugged into the control module but it wouldn't work. The headphones sounded fine with the sounds of pressing the buttons to make adjustments to the detector but the target sound when swinging over a target didn't work. I think there is just too much interference...

Heads up on the new F75 detectors that I thought I'd share!

If you drill your own holes make sure you don't hit the wires that run inside the from the batteries to the control module. That's why it voids the warranty.

    ORX

9" round HF would be my choice.

    The Best of the Best

After 45 years of detecting, I'd have to go with the Equinox 800 as the best "All Around" detector I've used, and I've used probably only 50 or so different detectors. I usually have 7 or 8 detectors at a time always looking for the best for me.

    metal coil connectors

Why are car bumpers plastic and not metal like years past?
  14. T

    metal coil connectors

Plastic is less expensive than steel. Coil ears are plastic because they can make the entire coil top by injecting or pressing a piece of plastic. Plastic is also lighter in weight.

    metal coil connectors

Because the black sand moves around as you swing.

    I'm back !!!

I've been detecting for more than 45 years and have used almost every popular brand out there. (not that, that means anything). I'm not a brand loyalist but have always tried to find the best "all Around" detector. I have a number of past and current detectors because I've never found one...

    metal coil connectors

No problem with the lower rod or the coil attachment screw being metal. As long as it is stationary to the coil, the coil doesn't really see them. Only when the one or the other is moving in relation to the coil, does the detector see it.
