I got a big old one off my bucket list last Sunday evening along with it's four tiny little friends :detecting:

Been very busy with no time for detecting but made time Sunday evening to go hunt my CW ghost town site and what a great hunt. Was using the stock coil and my TTF set up in the heavy square nail carpets. It is a bone dry cow pasture on private property and the lack of moisture made the high...

CTX and 17" coil did the trick this evening with a Seated,Barber,Buffalo,4 Indians,4 V nickles and several wheats not pictured

The grass was very short from a long winter along with the extra depth of the big coil allowed me to reach some deep ones at the old reunion grounds:thumbup:.

Vista Gold gets one I have been seeking for over 40 years :hot:

Went back to my CW town site with the many carpets of nails from over 40 structures having been burned to the ground during the CW. The Gold just keeps getting better as I learn just how good it is in nails. The Bust Half Dime was in the nails just waiting for the right machine to discover it.Had...

Vista Gold passes CW era carpet of nails with flying colors!

Been snowed in for a while and finally got out with my Gold to a ghost town site that was burned to the ground during the CW and has millions of square nails of all sizes. I dug one CW pistol bullet and a few other relics but the most amazing find was the lack of a single nail

Found 3 big silvers,1 little silver and a lone wheaty in just over 2 hours

Hunted some sidewalk strips and the soil was the worst I have ever hunted in I believe.Suggested sensitivity ran from 1 to a high of 10 and auto +3 ranged from 6 to18 . Very noisy as well with the stock coil. I believe the reason for the 3 silver quarters and only one dime is because I could not...

My goodies including first Seated Quarter with CTX from hunt with Guvner, All with the 13 x 17 coil

I have come to the conclusion that in some what trashy areas the 13x17 will do the job but often does not give quite as good of sounding signal as the stock coil. I arrived at this conclusion after cross checking the older deeper coins with Guvner's CTX with stock coil and same settings. One...
