Finally got a mild day. More snow tonight but today is

up to 38 right now, but down to zero tonight, so what ever thaws will be hard again by morning. Been trying to get the ice off the driveway but not much luck with it yet. Should be able to push off a little slush tonight before dark. Cleaned off the barn roof a few days ago as this stuff is...

Crazy week up here in Northern CT.

Of our 7 friends with indoor rings, 6 of them are on the ground. Snow took them out....big snow load then rain and down them came. We helped a smany as we could get snow off, but could not get to all of them. We had to go up on our house roof and get it off...Just to much. All kinds of...

Had a another Nor"easter pass thru CT last night.

Had to clear a path to the barn to feed so took a few pictures on the way down. Plowed later. I need to post a clip of the plowing tomorrow. No place to push this stuff any more. This will give you and idea what fell from 10pm until 4am. No problem getting the snow but no rain or warm...

    Stuff you didn't know...

stuff you didn't know... In the 1400's, a law was set forth in England that a man was allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence, we have 'the rule of thumb.' Many years ago in Scotland , a new game was invented. It was ruled 'Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden'...

Not sure if any of you guys

shoot old black powder rifles or pistols but I've been working on trying to get a stuck ball and charge out of one my uncle left me. He had a tag on it that just said, loaded and has stuck musket ball in it. Be careful. This is a .45 cal TC Hawken rifle. Yesterday with all the cold here...

Simple routine here, plow, feed wood stove, plow....

Looks purdy, but we got rain the other day and all this is not frozen solid. You can walk on top of it, but also break thru in spots. Hard on the animals for sure. I see the deer coming down off the hill having a hard time with it. More coming in tonight. Been a busy winter so far...

A trip down my driveway to the mail box.

Was going down so figured I'd see if I could get a clip thru the window. As you can see its more like a bob sled run as the sides are frozen in many spots. Trip down snowed in driveway to mail box

Mikie or Wayne. Do either of you reload or used to?

Now that the doldrums are here in between snow plowing, I've started casting up bullets and reloading again. Good way to past the time in the winter. Both of you being hunters I was curious as to if you did. I would figure Wayne, being a guide would more than likely not being out in the woods...

Took a few pictures yesterday cleaning up the dusting of snow.

Decent dusting. Punched a trail out to the road with the backhoe. Will try and make a clip of it later today. Also took a small clip of it at about its peak coming down. Will post that later. Still got a lot to clear out here and push it back. Run out of places to push it once it freezes...

Here is a Treasure for both USA and Canada

Treasure of the Citadel (From the British Columbia Magazine Archives and research -- over the border in Canada but easily accessible from Maine so included here) A Canadian journalist investigated a story of historic treasure buried near the Plains of Abraham during the monumentous Quebec...

Pirate treasure from Captain William Kidd.

Fun to try and figure out where they might be. Geo A few miles south of Hartford is the reputed burial site of a pirate treasure. There is a well-authenticated story that Captain William Kidd buried two chests of gold, silver, and jewels somewhere in the area. His sloop has been anchored...

Here is the hidden treasure I was telling you about in CT Fred.

This is the one I mentioned below. The home they speak of is now my friend bob Castillio's home. He just redid it all and allows me to hunt the property with detector and look for this treasure.... I've spent some enjoyable time looking for it, but nothing. He speaks of when they first moved...

Short clip from yesterday as storm came in here.

Still snowing and blowing pretty good here. Didn't loose power, which surprised me as there were trees breaking off all night long up on the hill here. Sounded like rifle shots all night as they snapped in the cold wind. this is a short clip off my back porch. Geo-CT Clip of snow storms...

Looks like we are about to get clobbered with Northeaster snow storm.

They are saying 20 inches up this way with high winds. If a wet snow, that means no power so just fueled up everything, like generator, backhoe for plowing and tractor. Brought the house up to 75 all over even basement so if it does go off, I can run about 12 hours with out having to play with...

Was over to my buddies place today. He sells sleighs

and wagons. He goes all over collecting them, restoring etc. I swung by today and he had these out on the side of the road. Says he sells quite a few just before Christmas every year. Though I'd put up a few to show you guys. No snow down here off the hill but ground is still white here...
