    Legend in modern trash

I'm with Tmops50 on this one all the way......if you are hunting jewellry or similar you just cant afford to trust any machine to distinquish between ally and the good stuff all the time......you are going to miss stuff full stop. The only way to be sure is dig it.....im afraid if you want to...

What are your beliefs about metal detector? Old Tech VS New?

The above is very well written and accurate.I don't own a single modern tech detector and I do great. The newest tech models I use are a Minelab sovereign and a Garrett Seahunter Mk2 lol,my two land machines are very simple machines that have their roots in the eighties. The advantages of more...

Well been to the beach after all the crowds and absolutely nothing. The beaches have been rammed over the last few weeks but not even a coin on my local spot.I did better before the hoards of people hit the beach.......five rings including two silvers and one gold, now the beach seems to be...

This dude found a $500 million treasure, But this is what happened!

    SMF

I have had most success here in the UK within the range of frequencies you described.........my most productive machines have all run at 14khz.I don't know why this is but 14khz seems to do very well over here in UK conditions finding both deep targets and very small silver hammered coins.14khz...

I think Monte is far more qualified than me to answer the question of whether the three will be better than the one........he has far more experience than me over a broader range of machines. Personally over the years i have had a detector that i have used as my go to machine but others that i...

    SMF

Be interesting to find out what improvements by taking a top non smf detector and an smf detector and testing them on the same targets in real detecting conditions.I just wonder how many more targets the smf detector would find.......I know that my old GT will find anything a nox will at the...

    SMF

Well in reality only two have to be transmitted at once for manufacturers to be able to claim SMF. It's another good marketing ploy to sell detectors though, even if in reality it doesn't improve that much on the really good models without SMF.

    SMF

Oh no bud..........they are great detectors without a doubt and will find a lot for their owners.I just don't think that they are leaps and bounds over some of the detectors I own so i won't be investing in one is what I meant. Over the thirty plus years I have been detecting I have seen many...

    SMF

I don't think i will invest the money as i'm really not convinced at all about smf.......the amount of used smf detectors on the market speaks volumes.

Thanks Carl.........as i said i haven't compared them inland so i assumed that is where the new tech would probahly gain an advantage.👍

    SMF

But how are the return signals analysed......surely they have to be analysed seperately in which case an average fequency would be used from a combination of all of them meaning that the resulting analysis of the signal isn't really similtaneous mf at all. I just dont see any improvement between...
