Silvers and Relics at an old Railroad site

Unfortunately no mint mark. No it wasn't a train stop but it was some sort of railroad building that shows up on the 1890 maps. I think it was a railroad maintenance building. It was bulldozed long ago but I was able to pinpoint it's location using https://www.historicaerials.com/viewer

    Simplex has arrived!

After a year of swinging the Simplex, the lower and upper shafts got very wobbly. I ended up getting the longer upper shaft and the carbon fiber lower shaft and it made a huge difference. It wasn't very expensive to replace those and the shaft is rock solid now. The nice thing about the Simplex...

Silvers and Relics at an old Railroad site

On my last couple of hunts for 2020 I decided to go back to an old railroad site that I've hunted many times over the years. I concentrated on some really trashy spots and some overgrown areas that I've avoided in the past On the first trip I used the Simplex with the 5x9 coil and got a rather...

‘Bout like ‘at- Patriot pays for itself and most of the Simplex too!!!

Very nice hunk of 925 chain. Gotta love those walking back to the truck finds. I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me.

    New Simplex with 2.78 update.

I would say to anyone who already has the 2.78 installed to just stay with it. You will see no benefit by reverting back to the 2.77 The 2.78 will do everything the 2.77 does and it's more stable and accurate with pinpointing and target ID in my opinion. If your still unsure then you can take...

Adding a Simplex to my detecting tools

The simplex is a great addition and I think you will be happy with the depth and separation you get with it. The tones can be a little harsh on the ears in trashy areas IMO though. According to Nokta, the only difference between the 2.77 & 2.78 is the way the machine processes the targets ID...

Got told to leave a spot today!!

My wife works for the Post Office here in Virginia. There may not be any laws against detecting on Postal Land but personally I wouldn't try it. If you think it's worth the fight then I say go for it but it's probably not going to end well for you.....

Is the simplex spanking these other machines in these tests?

Good test. I've been using a T2se for years and I also have a Simplex, they both do fairly well in the iron. From what I've seen, the Deus is the top performer in the iron right now.

Few good uns today... Rider on a Horse with a Sword Button.....

Nice hunt man. The condition of the large cent is incredible.

A simple answer for 'tnbwilson' on VDI numbers.

What software version are you using on your Simplex Monte?

    Tall Man Shaft Available ?

Nokta shows a longer middle shaft made of aluminum in Simplex accessories sections on their website: https://www.noktadetectors.com/metal-detector/simplex-metal-detector/ but I haven't seen any sellers carrying it......

    Giving the T2+ a try!

I have a T2se with a Nel 5 x 9 coil and it does pretty good at trashy sites. I usually run in 3 or 4 tone at 90% sensitivity with discrim set at 8 (I like to hear the iron).

    First Beach trip.

I've had my Simplex since November but haven't done any beach hunting yet. Did you have to turn down the sensitivy a lot to get it stable?
