    December weather

has been fantastic so we thought we better get out before it changes on us. This is my yesterday and todays hunts, 15 wheats, two merc's, one Rosy and a token good for 5 cents in trade. Oh yea, a 1906 IH too, almost forgot the special deputy ring... Anyone have an idea what that...

What coils can be used on the Treasure Pro?

The Prizm/Coinmaster family. 10"DD, 9.5", 9" spider and the 4X6 Prizm shooter. I think there was a Bigfoot made for the prizm that might work too but I have not tested or confirmed that yet.

    Learning the V3i

I would slow down the ground tracking or better yet, lock it. Mine runs a lot quieter in loctrack but I don't have the need for tracking in my ground. I have got into the habit to manually GB about every half hour or so.

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

I shouldn't write before my first cup of coffee, (inductive reactance) should not be there, that is the resistance of the coil, not part of Ohms law for power. Sorry about the error.

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

I'm glad you found your answers Dirt Fisher and I DO have, and read his book. I know Carl and I worked with him on the V3 project, BTW, a lot of my time was spent on coil testing and compatibility. "useful power to the coil is limited by the physics involved with the interaction of the ground...

    Silver Basketball

Another nice day to go hunting yesterday, we don't have very many more of them left. I saw a lot of members out but not many hunting, but those who were hunting was finding silver and wheats. The sterling basketball charm is hefty and is stamped 1941.

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

Dirt Fisher, you are overlooking dozens of factors and seem to be fixated on the magnetic field voltage of the coil which is probably one of the lesser important items of a metal detector. Applying a voltage to a coil of wire to create a magnetic field is pretty simplistic compared to the...

What happened to the TM Pro , I was wanting to know about it.

I think I'm just the opposite Charlene, I would much rather have the Treasure Pro for only $100 more. Both units have automatic GB but the Treasure Pro as has AutoTrac (ON or OFF), Traclock for tough areas. I think a manual GB is only necessary for locking AutoTrac and even that is optional...

    Playing in the dirt

The weather has been fantastic the past few days, even played hooky from work today to get some hunting in. This is some of my finds from the last couple of hunts. The locket is gold plated and the Merc is a 34. The oldest wheat is a 1911. Maybe someone can help me put a date on the old...

Loop Xmit Power for the TM/TP

Once upon a year I would have answered your question but it is so easy to just Google "How do metal detectors work" and you will get a couple dozen perspectives on the process and learn so much more. BTW, voltages are not transmitted into the ground and the coil voltage can be boosted to 30...

    Michael Jordan's locker tag

Well, it could have been  We hunted an abandoned property yesterday and I found $4 in clad. The wheat is a 1909 but no mint mark or VDB.

What happened to the TM Pro , I was wanting to know about it.

When you get tired of the Treasure Pro Harold, let me know, I would like to try one out for myself and I'm in no hurry.

V3i still pulling valuables from hunted out schoolyard!

Nice hearing from you Neil ...... you sure like those low VDI's and for good reason.

    whites treasure pro

A chirp at the end of a swing is almost always because the coil is lifted a little. Try a shorter swing or work on twisting your wrist a little more to keep the coil flat to the ground on the end swing.

    Coin Depth..

Loaded question indeed. Only you can answer that question with your ears, settings, EMI and ground. Your ground (mineralization) is the biggest variable. With all settings the same except GB, I can hear a quarter at 7 inches in mineralized ground yet on a white sand beach, the quarter could...

    Club hunt?

How about some news from the club hunt Saturday? That was my first club hunt miss in many, many years, I pretty much stayed in bed all day nursing a head cold. I didn't think anyone else would want what I have anyway. :stretcher:

    Sensitivity Zoom Screen on V3i

I don't know, it still might be on the White's V3i forum

    Another beautiful day for hunting

We got out again for a couple of hours this morning and I did better this time with a 1917 Merc and more goodies. The second picture is from the last camping trip where I did pretty good too with the no date Standing Liberty quarter and a 63 rosy.

    Todays finds

What a beautiful day to go hunting and I got a nice assortment of goodies. I didn't do as well as Nancy but still had fun. Of the three dog tags, the oldest is 1932.
