i don't know if you have seen this or not so I thought that I'd post it just in case. It's a great explanation of the new 4.1 ground sens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkUE00wLPo4&feature=push-u&attr_tag=ePN6QYW49WjZ9jLl-6

Where oh where can 4.1 be?????

Man, XP sure takes their time with the updates. I know it must be difficult to weed out the problems but c'mon already. You know that as soon as 4.1 is released in the wild there are going to be more problems and 4.1 b or c or whatever will be in the works. Give us 4.1 already. Months of trying...

another good day of detecting especially in late November in WNY Day 2

Went back to the corn field again. Spent a few hours and found a few good ones. 1912 Barber Dime eaten up some by the fertilizer. A buckle? or something that I can't ID yet and what I think is a dashboard light from an old car but not sure what it is. Any ideas on either item would be nice...

another good day of detecting especially in late November in WNY

Mike, Mark and i got out to an old existing farm house today and got a few interesting things. I found the smallest ox knob that i've ever seen, a 1892 Indian Head, a badge from the Grand Army of the Republic 1897 encampment in Buffalo, New York and an angel pin that looks old too. Mike found a...

    A few recent finds....

Me and Mike managed to get out a few times in the last 10 days dodging much rain. One soy bean field was so muddy that our boots weighed 20 pounds with the way the mud was sticking. There were 2 houses there according to the old maps and we turned up nothing!! LOL that's the way it goes...

why does the 800 come with headphones and WM8?

I see in the brochure that the 800 has bluetooth headphones and the WM8. If the wireless headphones come with it why would we want the WM8? Just in case we don't like the supplied headphones?

    WS5 vs Deteknix headphones

I have hearing aids and am using the WS5's so I don't know how good or bad they are so I'm asking all of you that have used both the WS5's and the new Deteknix headphones which ones sound the best. I'm sure that I do miss targets that I have trouble hearing so I wonder if the Deteknix would be...

should I replace the battery in my Deus remote or have them do it?

I've had my Deus for 4 years now and the battery in the remote lasts most of the day where it used to last 2 long days of detecting so I think its getting time to replace the battery. Has any of you replaced the battery yourself? Fairly easy? Where to get the proper battery? or should I send it...

    One great day of detecting...

I got out with my buddy Mike today at an old pre 1840 house. All of our finds were in the front yard. It's hard to imagine that all of this was in the front yard. our first find was the 1877CC Seated quarter that I happened to scrape as it was in the hole with a large nail, drat!! I like the...

A very small button, an 1893 IH and a cool button from Benedict & Burnham company with 4 bees on it. Here is a link to...

    nice evening in the cornfield

Me and the guys are always driving around with old maps looking for old sites. Had our eye on this one where 2 old houses once stood in 1866 but are now a corn field. Corn was harvested and Mark got us permission to hit it and we waited til evening as it's been very hot and muggy. We had a great...

Nice day of detecting with the Deus

Got out to a very friendly couple's old farmhouse for a day of detecting. I was there earlier in the week but they had a dog fence so the EMI was off the hook but my buddy and I gave them all that we did find and they were so happy seeing all the cool stuff that came from their property that...

I wonder if the new HF coils will help with wireless routers and dog fences

I have been finding more and more homes that either have wireless routers or in ground dog fences that drive the Deus crazy so I wondered if using a higher frequency coil would be able to not be as affected by these situations? I was at a couple of very choice old homes today and pretty much...

2nd hunt with Nokta Impact.. TID's making me crazy..lol..

I can't figure what is coming in on TID with this machine. I used DI4, 14K, disc 3, lowered gain to 60, tracking on, and dimes were coming in at around 78. Then to check I switched to deep, 14K, disc 10, I could keep gain at 70 just to check and dimes would come in at 86 or so. why the disparity...

First hunt with the Nokta Impact

Got out to a old farm house yard today with the Impact. I did ok considering that I'm new to it. Mostly used the DI4 program, FeVol 1, 14Khz, disc 3, tracking 01, gain at 70. The small buckle was in the hole with the bent nail. Above them is a small brass rectangular buckle. The eagle had it's...

My brand new Impact is not working properly at all... must contact Nokta i guess

I'm out detecting just in a school soccer field trying to get used to it. DI4, all stock settings. sweeping and finding targets... working fine. Get to an area and it gets real unstable like I'm in bad EMI area so I go to expert, scroll down to frequency and chose 5Khz to see if that is any...

i can't believe Minelab now has service done by KellyCo instead of in house

Why would Minelab close their in house repair center and turn it over to KellyCo? I only had to send my CTX in to Minelab once to their service center in Illinois and it came back in a week. I have it in to KellyCo now since 6-2-17 and it is 6-26-17 and nothing. I have called their service...
