    Not much chat.

Well, ive just come back from a couple of hours on our local beach......i had to drag myself off the couch as it was raining and cold. My initial thoughts on the XTerra pro......OMG.Our beach is brown sand with an underlayer of black sand and clay so not the easiest for detectors to get depth...

    Not much chat.

Well I've just received the Xterra today and put it together, looked through the settings and I'm quite impressed already. Its nicely built,is easy to set up and is light in weight.Looking forward to taking it out for a spin at the weekend after which I will post some initial thoughts.

    Not much chat.

Not a lot of chatter about this machine of late..........are you all hiding your dirty little secrets about the machine.......perhaps you don't want many people buying them.🤣🤣 Mine is coming tomorrow........I'm not really interested in the latest machines but this one sparked my interest as a...

Xterra Pro Beach Mode - is Minelab hiding its Dual Frequency?

Best beach machine I ever owned........the White's Beach hunter 300 id...........ran on 3 and 15 kHz. Wish I still owned that machine but the GT is a close match and a more rounded general purpose detector.

Be careful using discrimination especially on the beach my video With Manticore

This is why i still use older technology Donna i just don't trust all this latest technology,it just doesn't seem to be working in certain situations. There are a few guys here in the uk that are unsure about the manticore,it just isn't performing up to the hype. Some suggest that users aren't...

Be careful using discrimination especially on the beach my video With Manticore

Even black sand shouldn't cause that....I find deep targets deep in black sand with my GT,that should be banging out loud in discrimination on the surface.I've never seen anything like that before........never used as manticore and after seeing that i don't think i'd want to.

    Something different

100% bud,I used to like using mine....preferred the lightning over the xd17........lovely little detector to swing and it found some nice stuff.I also have a Saxon sm45 which is a really simple old tech detector hand built by Essex metal detectors........in no way is it a deep machine but the...

    Something different

I had two red heats one lightning and the xd17 too...........problem is now that Vic has gone I don't think anyone can fix them. Also, they were a bit overrated in my humble opinion.......they had a somewhat legendary status and I could never quite understand why, they were good in the iron but so...

MINELAB Manticore Unmasking And Recovery Performance

I agree with the M6 suggestion..........fabulous detector even on the wet sand at the beach, one of the only single frequency detectors that could cope with the wet sand back in its day. Also great inland, loved the sef 8x6 coil on mine.Great machine.

MINELAB Manticore Unmasking And Recovery Performance

It's lighter, waterproof and will have great performance (I assume) like the etrac.Ive owned an etrac but not the manticore........if a lighter, waterproof detector floats your boat it may be worth it.Whether it will outshine the etrac performance wise could only really be determined in a proper...

    Goodbye PI.

It's a seahunter mk 2 with the 14" coil.....well it was🤣. Don't anyone get me wrong now it was a great machine and went to daft depths on small stuff.I tried the ignore all the big signals and just concentrate on the feint signals but most of these were also trash. I tested it against my GT and...

    new fisher metal detector.

Just a land detector??Surely the way forward is a top performing multi purpose unit that covers all types of searching, including performing great at the beach on the wet sand.

    The most expensive Ancient coin!

Beautiful coin,my best condition ancient coin was this from the reign of the emperor hadrian.Years in the soil have worn it quite a bit due to plough action etc.

    Goodbye PI.

You have me wrong sir.........there is no doubt that a pi can get deeper than a vlf,I think I said the latest vlfs, particularly multi frequency units, can "almost" get to pi depths. My point was how many great targets such as rings etc lie in that extra couple of inches, from my experience hardly...

    Goodbye PI.

I'm no longer convinced tvr, looking back at the rings i've found with my pi in comparison to the ferous i've dug........equivalent to the world's entire stock of meccano.......and the non ferrous rubbish such as bits of ally also at silly depths,i wonder if a pi gives any advantage at all now...

    Goodbye PI.

Muddy,im seriously thinking about it now to be fair,i know it performs great on the beach and is so light and as you rightly say you only live once......life is for living.😁😁 I've just bought an xterra pro as a lightweight back up to my sovereign gt.....coming next week so i may treat myself to...

    Goodbye PI.

That's it,I'm saying goodbye to my pulse induction machine, took it out yesterday and enough is enough.......as I get older its becoming more like a medieval torture device than a pleasurable way to dig up treasure,I'm pretty sure pi stands for panting inducer after the amount of holes I dug...

Equinox 900 on wet sand or in saltwater vs. others

Wow,8 months and no reply.....just seen this so I will share my thoughts.I'm primarily a beach detectorist now since i moved back to the coast and I'm always interested in new models that come out claiming to be the next best thing at this type of detecting.I own two detectors for the beach,one...
