    V3i program question

As long as it works for you. The downside of a master reset is you lose any changes and programs you made.

Can v3i be set deeper than preset coin & jewelry program?

The V3i is a programmable detector, if you don't want to "program", the VX3 may be the better choice for you.

    Beautiful day to go hunting

We had permission to hunt one yard, wish we had more, what a great day. My take was 11 wheats, the oldest is 1919-S and a couple of Merc's, a 44 and a 20 something. The rest is the usual misc.

Got out for a little bit Sunday

It wasn't too bad if I stayed out of the wind but still only lasted a couple of hours. The shotgun base is a 10 gauge, don't see many of those. The Merc is a 1918 and the wheat is a 56. Nice little President pin and a wire wrapped "something".

    I found a Buick

name plate that was made by J. W. Colgan Co which was in business from 1880 to at least 1929. I would like help finding what this went on and if a car, what year. The back is plain with the J.W. Colgan, maker, stamp. It looks like it might have been soldered onto something with a solder line...

    I found a Buick

medallion of some sorts plus a lot of junk. The only coin was a very toasted older foreign copper that looks like King George V on the front but unlike Great Britain coins, the date is on the front, an 18 something. It was nice to get out for a couple of hours walking the field but until it is...

Enjoying a few days off work

I tried some woods hunting for a while this morning and struck gold on the first target, a pretty little signet that tested as 12k. There is no purity stamp on it so I'm pretty sure it is over 100 years old. It rang up as a nickel, boy was I surprised :bouncy: A fired three ringer, one wheat...

    Another windy cold hunt

but all goodies. The buffalo nic on the right is a 1917.

    I braved the chill today

and did a little field hunting. The only coins found were two IH's 1880 and a 1900. The ring is an oldie but just pot metal or whatever they were made from at the time.

    I have gone years.......

without finding a silver half and I have found 4 this year (so far ) three just in the last month. I thought I would make a contest out of this one for a Barber dime at the next meeting, must be present to win. Members, guess what year it is here on this post and the closest one wins...

    Slim pickings

Nancy found a nice yard that looked very promising, big corner lot, older house....... but was not meant to be. A 45 wheatie and a Tootsie toy truck was all of the older stuff found by me.

D2 coil VS 950 V rated coil..... V3i Whites machine

Yes, this is the V3i forum and Elton was talking about a new coil for his V3i and was considering the 9.5 V rated coil at that time. This thread is 5 years old.

Sorry we missed the club hunt

but we had an extended weekend camp-out planned. We got out to hunt a few times so I guess we had our own fun hunt between the showers........:detecting: I had a blast and found some nice finds too. My second half find of the year is a 1939 and two dimes, a 53 and a 57 as well as a war nickel...

    Another good day hunting

A 36 quarter, two Indians and 7 early wheats was worth the trip to neighboring town this morning. The ring is an Avon but the cuff link and pendant are old.

    Screen Locks up

It could be an oxidized ribbon connector. Open up the display pod, pull the ribbon connector off and reinsert. Worth the try.

    One thin dime

Oh Yea, 1838 in pretty worn condition but still a beauty to me. It is the no drapery, tilted shield varity that carries a small premium. Other finds was a 1904 Indian Head and 4 early wheats.

    V3i With a SunRay Probe ???

My guess is something was wrong with the DX-1selector switch, it should not have affected the proper operation of the coils. It sounds like maybe a faulty ground wire.
