    Gold and silver.............:)

Our club headed up to Stevens Pass and gave the ski slopes a try. According to the security guy, there has been a lot of people up there with detectors. Lots of clad was found and we all hoped to find some silver and maybe some nice jewelery. I hiked up this one slope and thought I was going to...

I would appreciate a good solid beach hunting program fellows. My experience at beach hunting is zero. Going to an Oregon beach next month and I need some help on this one. Thanks. HH. Eddie

So these are what seated coins look like................:)

Went to our club meeting tonight and the seated coins made me sick!! Just kidding...........:) Jack got the 1855 seated half and the 1875 seated twenty center out of the same hole. Very nice indeed. I can't find one seated coin and he gets two out of the same hole!! Ron got the seated 1890 dime...

    Big silver...........: )

Myself and a couple of detecting buddies went to a couple of parks today and a small college. Lots of clad and Bugsy got a nice 42 merc and a nice 1882 Indian head. Lee got a couple of wheat's with the oldest being a 1914. I was getting a little frustrated not finding much and finally at the...

Thanks to you all..............:) Eddie in Poulsbo.

Thanks to Randy, Minelab Marcus, Mass Sandman, Bruce, rayc, JoeG, and Mike K on my latest gold and diamond ring find. I was in kind of a slump as far as gold rings go and silver coins. Now, I just have to keep on rolling. I did take that ring down to a jeweler and he did verify that they are...

    Clad and some sparkle.................:)

Went out for about four hours this morning and hit a couple of pounded school yards. Ended up with $6.66 in clad, some kind of foreign coin, a 55 wheatie and a 46 rosie. I sure hope that 666 isn't some kind of an omen............:) It didn't seem to have any affect as I went out in this one...

    Digital mode on XS.

Sorry fellows.............I didn't mean to open up a can of worms on this subject. I do appreciate all the replies you all posted. Like I said, I have never done this experiment before and wasn't aware that being in the conductive or ferrous mode that you would get the same digital reading. Now...

    Digital mode on the XS.

I just tried something on my XS that I haven't done before. I realize that the XS only has one set of numbers in the digital mode verses the Explorer II which has two sets of numbers. Well, I first had it set in conductive and passed a silver half dollar by my coil. I got a reading of 28. I then...

    Thanks fellows.................:)

After reading some PM's from some of you I have decided that purchasing an Explorer II is not something I should do at this time. We all like to have new toys to play with, but again after reading some of your comments there really isn't that much difference between the Explorer II and the...

    XS verses the Explorer II.

Okay fellows..............I need your opinions as to whether or not the Explorer II can really out perform the XS, or is there really not that much difference in both the machines. I have heard from a source that head to head that the XS did better than the Explorer II where the Explorer II said...

    Used Explorer XS.

Okay fellows..........How do I go about selling a used, but in very good condition Explorer XS? Outside of asking the guys and gals in the two detector clubs that I belong to, are there other ways to sell a good detecting machine to anyone who wants to excell in the Explorer Minelab family? Any...

    Old roadside park.

Well, I found this old roadside park called Wildwood Park just outside of this old town that my dad was born in. The place was pretty run down and very overgrown with brush and weeds and the worst part was the no trespassing signs. I don't know who owns the property, but I did go in and just...

    Chuck@TreasureHut

Hi Chuck, What is the best deal you can give me on the Explorer II with the X-1 probe? Also, do you have any idea if Minelab is coming out with a detector to replace the Explorer II? Thanks. Eddie

    Small silver ring.

Here is a close up of the smallest silver ring that I have ever found. The inside diameter is just a little bit larger then the diameter of a pencil. I didn't know that they made silver rings that small. Too bad that stone wasn't real........:) HH. Eddie

    Meager finds.

Got out for about three hours before the rain started. Hit a couple of school playgrounds and at least paid for my gas.........:) Total was 18 quarters, 15 dimes, 18 nickles, 68 pennies, 1 Sacajawea dollar, 1 play token, 1 1953 wheat penny for a total of $8.59. I also got the smallest silver...

    Old town site.

Well, I did some more research and visited a small town that my dad was born in back in 1917 and where my grandfather use to log. I visited the museum there and talked with a couple of older ladies and got some good information. I also bought a real nice book about the towns early years with...

    Local school yard.

Went down to my local school yard after dinner and got some clad and a nice 10kt gold bracelet. This place has been pounded to death, but the old Explorer XS keeps on ticking...........:) HH. Eddie

    Hey Boony. Question for you...............:)

Hi Boony, Since you are from down under, I figure that you can answer my question. I hunted some military playgrounds today and I always seem to come up with a foreign coin or two. Well, I dug up this coin from Australia and the gold color had me going there for a moment...:) It says two...
