14k ring and a piece of a class ring

Old 10k rings dont do well in salt water over time. The copper leaches out and they become brittle. Have found many older HS rings in pieces or fell apart after cleaning. Salt water destroys too many good prizes. Thankfully 14k and up, hold up well over time. Been a long time since I used...

    Enough to drive you crazy....

The whole boardwalk is different. Both piers were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Then there was a fire at the sound end during renovations. Funtown rides gone. Now there is a smaller south pier with a high end cabana club. Sawmill survived but Beachcomber on the pier gone with the fire...

    Enough to drive you crazy....

Use to be one of my mainstays. However, since they dumped a billion tons of sand for replenishment, its not worth the money in gas to get there. I said, Id never see the original beach in my lifetime. Yes, Seaside had been very good to me and most everyone back in the good old days. I have one...

    Enough to drive you crazy....

Now that takes the patience of a SAINT to push that signal ashore. I cant recall finding something good that fell through the scoop. Always ends up being a small piece of aluminum. Good for you finding the itty, bitty, gold. Cheers, Donna

    Enough to drive you crazy....

I just cant recall finding these aluminum rivets with any other machine. They fall through the holes in the scoop and barely can find them. I dont use a pinpointer at the beach. But now I know the number range, 79-81. So if I cant find it real fast, I know its a rivet. Those fold up chairs...

Love the technology, not the furniture.

I cant stand the remote getting knocked off so easily. Tank God for the lanyard !!! Finally watched the video to secure it. Just cant wait for the string to break !!!! Only 8 hour charge on the coil is pathetic, especially now a days. Going to England in October. We are in the fields a...

What do you do with a guy who digs deep holes and leaves his trash behind ???

I am the consummate recycler. I beach hunt and carry a SHOPPING BAG to put in all the plastic bottles and cans I find along my route. It just burns me up this guy cant pick up a bottle cap. Unfortunately I have a good friend who also hunts the beach and he doesnt wear an apron. I asked him...

What do you do with a guy who digs deep holes and leaves his trash behind ???

I love to run into him and give him a good piece of my mind. However, I think he is a night hawker and I dont detect at night. In fact, I was out on the beach at 4 a/m and very dark. It was just too creepy. I usually hunt at dawn. I want to see who's around me. Its a safe beach. Never had...

What do you do with a guy who digs deep holes and leaves his trash behind ???

I decided to re-bury it and hope he enjoys digging it up again and again and again. My D2 eliminates bottle caps, so I know I wont be digging them.:):):):):) Keep it clean, HH Donna(NJ)

    Minelab Manticore

Unless they have a 5 year warranty, I wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot pole. Mine died after 4 years and it was never submerged. Minelabs build quality is terrible. Think Excalibur before you leap !!! Staying with my D2. Wouldnt look at Minelab again, unless they can give me a 3D picture of...

Need a little help on this weird occurrence with my D2

Yes, if deep, definitely dig !!! I have found, if no TID on DEEP targets, if you whip the coil real fast, you may get a number. Certainly helps to have a clue. Digging 2 feet for a zinc penny sucks. This machine is definitely the deepest Ive ever used !!!! HH Donna(NJ)

Need a little help on this weird occurrence with my D2

Discrimination is set to 40. There's NO target ID number but a good audio signal. I know its a bobby pin when there s no TID # I found an extremely thin, small, gold ring that TID at 40. So that's why I have the discrimination set there. Been digging tons of foil and nothing good, ever...

Found the Crown Jewel of Metal detecting

Of course, its made of my favorite metal, STAINLESS STEEL !!! Could have been worse if it was made out of some other junk metal. Massive ring. Not sure who would wear something like that. Cover for every pot. The fun never ends.... HH Donna(NJ)
