    X-Terra headphones

If they worked with the 705, then they will work with the new Pro.

    X-Terra headphones

Does it work on other detectors, like a Fisher, a Whites, or other Minelabs? I would think that any setup that utilizes a dongle transmitter that plugs into a standard headphone jack should work. The only thing to keep in mine is that the Minelabs all run stereo jacks.

Could the X-terra Pro be a disguised twin frequency

I admit that I don't have all the answers. For one thing, I don't know if the Nox is an all-digital machine or not. The X-Terra was the first all-digital machine out there, and it pioneered the use of "Smart-Coil" technology that was later employed with the CTX. An all-digital unit may well...

Could the X-terra Pro be a disguised twin frequency

It still all boils down to processor demand, and the fact is that it does take more processor to run multi-frequency than single frequency.

Could the X-terra Pro be a disguised twin frequency

It takes a lot more processing power to drive multiple frequencies than it does to operate on a single frequency. Four batteries in my 705 last longer than six do in my Explorer SE.

    X-Terra headphones

It would be absolutely insane for Minelab to produce a proprietary 3.5mm headphone jack and headphones for what is being called "an entry level machine", and barring that there is no reason that a dongle and appropriate headphones of any manufacturer can't be used. I'll personally be using the...

Could the X-terra Pro be a disguised twin frequency

Why do people think that there's something nefarious going on? This sort of thing happens far too often, and you'd think that folks would learn from previous experiences. Aren't there better things to worry about? I remember when the CTX came out, and all the same allegations were flying about...

I'll handle it, Jimmy. No worries.

    X-Terra Pro Timeline

So, nothing new about that. The old X-Terra was the best kept secret in detecting before it.

    X-Terra headphones

As near as I can tell, they aren't interchangeable. The new Pro will use the same ML-85 phones as the Equinox 700/900, which are different than the ML-80/ML-100 phones used with the Equinox 600/800 & Vanquish.

    New X-Terra Pro Features

A study was done years ago, and it was determined that 2.7kHz was the optimal frequency for finding silver dimes. That is why I got so pumped over having 3kHz coils other than the original 9"CC, which did alright, but was useless where trash density was an issue. And nobody has mentioned it...

"If true", I'll have one shortly after they are available. :bouncy:

    Shaft needed.

You could just fabricate your own chest mount, use whatever you want for a shaft, waterproof the coil & wire, and go wading with it. I've always wanted to do that.

    New X-Terra Pro Features

I think I'm going to have to get my hands on one to know what I want to know about it. Regardless, I'll still never be without a 705 for what it can do that no other single machine can.

    Squirrels swim rather well.

My Brother had one for a couple if years that was loose in his room. The worst thing about it was that it kept him awake at night climbing the drapes and gliding down to the foot of his bed.

    Like snakes?

That's an awesome belt or hatband right there! I've got a pair of boots made from bleached back-cut python, where they cut them up the center of their back, so the wide belly scales run up the center of the boot. And being bleached they have no color pattern.

    Like snakes?

Nope! As a matter of fact, the one in my hand is about as big as they get. They aren't very fast, so most folks overlook them because they look more like a worm than a snake at first glance.

    Like snakes?

I like 'em! Around here they are an asset. This is one of the smallest varieties we have here. It's a Michigan Red-Bellied snake. This is an Eastern Milk snake, and I have a bunch of these around (I wish I had a few dozen more).

    New to me 705 questions

A lot of that depends on the trash density or the areas you hunt. I tend to prefer farm fields where there used to be homes but hasn't had the foot traffic for 100 years, so there isn't a lot of trash to sift through.
