    question about nel coils

It's simple. Minelab can't sue NEL/MARS/CORS in Ukraine because the Ukraine government doesn't support foreign patent laws. NEL also doesn't sell strictly through distributorships and will sell directly to anyone who wishes to order from them, meaning that Minelab would literally have to find...

    question about nel coils

I bet that if it were your time and money involved with its development you would see things differently. This is absolutely NOT true! Believe it or not, there is no such thing as an enforceable international patent. The U.S. does recognize and support foreign patents, but doesn't enforce them...

    question about nel coils

Okay, I'm going to try to explain it all one more time, and hopefully everyone will understand. I have no problem with NEL making coils for a variety of metal detectors. Most coils are nothing all that special, as they are basically just antennas. However, Minelab, with the Xterra line, opened...

    Lots of SPAMMERS today!

I whacked one that had another username on a shared IP address. Kinda like a two-fer!

    Prospecting coil for my 705?

If deeper is the objective, then neither the 6" nor the 5X10" will do better than the 10½" that the OP has. However, the larger coil that sees deeper comes at the cost of missing smaller shallower targets that the 6" and 5X10" would not. I would add that there's a reason that Minelab sold the...

    Squirrels swim rather well.

Things that go bump in the night! I've had squirrels run right across my lap while sitting still hunting more than once. They tend to freak out when I move after they've crossed and they realize what they just ran over.

    question about nel coils

And where do those coils come from? I'll give you a hint, it's the most corrupt country in Europe and we're sending them billions of our tax dollars. :ranting:

    question about nel coils

Apples and oranges my friend. Your old Explorer and your Fisher coils are nothing but basic wound wire dipole antennas and there's nothing special about them. The Xterra's coils are V-Flex™ SmartCoils™ that communicate with the machine. There is effectively a two-way digital communication...

    question about nel coils

They are not the same company, but they do work together. Coiltek is authorized to develop coils that Minelab later produces for a few of their machines.

    Prospecting coil for my 705?

The 15" All-Terrain Coiltek coil will go deeper, but larger coils tend to not be as sensitive to the smaller nuggets as smaller coils are. The key to getting the most out of a large coil is learning to go slow enough to give the machine time it needs to generate and interpret the eddy current...

    Which coil?

Coiltek was authorized by Minelab to develop coils, and given the necessary information by Minelab, but no other manufacturer has had access to that info. Both Randy and I did field tests on the Coiltek coils and worked directly with them in developing what you're now using. You're...

    Xterra Pro Military discount

At least they answered you right away. And now you know exactly what they offer the discount for. I'm actually almost surprised that they offer a Military discount here in the states at all, being an Australian company.

    X-terra Pro Bass Pro Shops?

Does BPS offer free shipping for everyone, or is there some special code or other requirement to get that deal. I've never ordered anything from them, so I just don't know.

    Headphones For The X-Terra Pro

I cut the cord about 10-years ago and still use the same old Auvio phones that utilize "Kleer Technology". They aren't generic Bluetooth, so there's no pairing when you fire it up, and they're super-low latency. I've been happy with them on both the 705 & Explorer SE, so I imagine I'll keep...

    Felt Like A Kid Again

Someone had to be first, and I'm glad that it's you. Looking forward to your impression of it overall, and how it compares to the older models.

Could the X-terra Pro be a disguised twin frequency

It amuses me that people who have never even seen the new machine can draw so many conclusions about it by watching a few videos.

    Release date? ? ?

Word is that the first batch has been shipped and are on their way to dealers. Won't be too much longer before we'll start seeing them.
