    We had one as well the house was built in the 1905 era. I found one several years ago that was quite a bit larger and it has a 1860's patent date I was able to research and find the complete door bell picture.

    I found this variety very similar to yours. Pretty sure it's a manual door bell with the same patriotic theme. Mine appears to have been in a fire at one time. 1800's house site was its origin.
