    Spike?

Found this spike while hunting my local beach after a storm. It's been sitting on my desk since. Just started reading a book by Terry Shannon on the "Treasure Coast" and saw pictures in his book that he called "Bronze Ships Spikes". They looked very similar to what I found. Any help would be...

Beach hunt Silver, Silver ring, and .50 cal round?

Spent about 5 hours on the beach Saturday with the Nox 600 and 15" coil. Still finding lots of coins along storm cuts. Also found what I think is a .50 cal round. Measures out at about .50 on my calipers. Any help with an ID would be appreciated. Thanks for looking!

Weekend Beach hunt w/Silver and cheap rings and lots of clad

Took the Nox 600 for a spin this weekend at my local beach. Spent about 7.5 hours over two days. I hunted the same areas that I have hunted over the past few weekends. We had strong northeast winds for two days that moved out additional sand. Seems to have exposed another layer of coins. In my...

Beach Hunt with new 15" coil w/Silver

Took the Nox 600 for a spin on the beach with my new 15" coil. Picked up a couple of silvers and right many wheats. Also found a small section of beach where I picked up all of the bullets. I feel the 15" coil did hit a little deeper, but it did take me a little while to get comfortable with...

    2nd Beach hunt for Nox 600 w/Silver

Got my Nox 600 on the beach for the second time. Hunting my home NC beach that was hit hard during hurricane Florence. Didn't find gold but did pick up some silver. Bought some Gray Ghost Amphibian for the Nox. I thought that they worked well. The machine performed like a champ, and I am getting...

    Equinox 600 1st Hunt

Took my new Equinox 600 to the beach this weekend for its maiden voyage. I have been hunting N.C. beaches with an Excal II for several years, but am brand new to the Equinox. I bought a pair of Miccus Stealth SR-71 headphones online and they worked great without any issues. I also purchased some...

    Sand Shark Straight Shaft

I just pulled the trigger on a new Sand Shark and would like to know how many SS/TS users are running them on a straight shaft. I have a Plugger shaft on my Excal II and really like it. I did a search on the forum, and didn't get many hits. Thanks for any input!

    Excal II phones cable cracking

My headphone cable is beginning to crack right in the middle of the strain relief next to the control pod. Do you guys have a slick way to repair it? Heat shrink maybe? I just got the machine back from minelab and really don't want to have to send it off again this soon. Thanks in advance

    Grand Cayman Trip (14K)

I just returned from Grand Cayman yesterday. I took my Excal II and had no problems what so ever with customs. All the beaches in Cayman are public, so there are tons of places to hunt. This is the first time I did all of my hunting in the water. I found lots of US and CI clad, a small silver...

Question about hunting Excal in Pinpoint Mode

I saw this video on Youtube of a guy hunting his Excal in pinpoint mode and switching to Disc to check his targets. At one point in the video he gets a signal in pinpoint that does not show up in Disc. After removing a couple of scoops of sand he is able to get a signal in Disc mode and...

    Excal II off to Vegas

I got to hunt for a few hours here on the beach in NC yesterday. My new Excal II (3 months old) ran great before lunch. I came back after lunch and turned it on, and got nothing. I had charged my battery the night before, so I didn't think it was a power issue. What I found out, was that If I...

2nd hunt w/new Excal II and question

I'm loving this machine! Thanks to all who have posted advice for us new guys on this forum. Found this stuff in the wet sand yesterday. Ring, catch on chain and pendant are stamped 925. I have searched on the forum for advice on applying silicone grease to the battery connection on my machine...
