    Hey king-ghidorah.:detecting:

We are still waiting for some posts of your finds from those grassy areas that you posted pictures of a while back. Just curious, but how often do you get out and do any detecting? Sure would like to see you post some of your finds one of these days. HH. Eddie

    Gold coin.

Okay fellows.............Here are a couple of pictures of Jack's gold coin. Can anyone tell me where, what, when and why? The coin is maybe half the size of a dime with the Indian on the front with 13 stars and the date of 1853. The back says California Gold. I'm sure Jack has found out the...

    Out of town hunt.

Finally I found some stuff worth posting for a change...............:wiggle: Got to go to one of the two clubs that I belong to and their out of town hunt. My buddy Lee and I packed up the car and left last Thursday morning. It was about a six hour drive and finally arrived in town, checked into...

    To king-ghidorah.

Just have to ask.............have you hit those right of ways of those pictures that you posted? I see you posting, but no pictures of any finds from what looks to be some good areas to hunt. Where do you live? Maybe I'll come out that way and get you rolling...............:twodetecting: Good...

    Noise cancel.

What is to be gained by holding your detector 12" above the ground when you noise cancel? I haven't read in either of my Explorer handbook or in Andy Sabisch's book that you need to hold your detector 12" above the ground when noise canceling. I always noise cancel before detecting making sure...

Hunting strips between sidewalks and streets.

A couple of years ago some guys from my club decided to hunt some strips in a town not far from home. Everything started out fine, but then this one home owner came out and you guessed it, it was his property!! The fellow who was detecting in front of this guy's house was always kind of an a@#...

    Yipppeeeeee!!!!!!!

Got my new SE Pro coil in the mail today from Rick in ND from a tip from James in ND. Thanks again Rick for the great service. Got her mounted on the carbon shaft and you can hardly feel any weight at all. Did some air tests on different silver coins and she pinpoints very well. Can't wait to...

    What a let down..................

Well, sorry to say we didn't even get to dig one plug at this place. It probably has some possibilities, but the weeds were so high that you couldn't swing a coil. The guy who owns the property is building a new house there and he said he would grade the area around the old house so we could...

    It's been awhile...........................:bouncy:

First off let me congrat all the great finds that have been posted by all of you. Very nice finds indeed. I have been working my butt off around the house here putting in new doors, kitchen appliances, trim, painting and new carpet. The wife and I did get away the first of the month for five...

    Old homestead yields nice cache.:yikes:

First let me apologise for the poor quality picture. It was a scan of the photo from my cousin Gene. He doesn't have his computer set up yet so I am doing his story for him. Gene owns about forty acres on an old homestead. The story goes that the old man who lived there buried his money in fruit...

    My last two hunts.....................:detecting:

I haven't posted in awhile. Weather has been crappy with snow, rain and freezing temperatures. Nothing to brag about, but I did manage to find silver and a small gold ring. The first picture is stuff from an old scout camp. Two silver quarters, 1946 and 1964, 1943 merc, 1936 buffalo, 1958 wheat...

    Question?

Has anyone lucked out while detecting with the Explorer XS and found a gold nugget? My buddy Lee found a gold nugget at our last club hunt at an old Christian camp. We were on a coin hunt and he dug this nugget. We didn't think it was actually gold, but he took it to a jeweler and he said it was...

    Lost Rose Bowl ring.

Some of you might remember my post awhile back about the Rose Bowl ring that I found. I finally managed to get it back to the owner last November and my local newspaper ran a story about it on Jan 1st on Rose Bowl day. I am posting the link and if any of you are snowed in and have cabin fever...

    Sundays finds.

Not too much to brag about, but had fun just the same at our club hunt last Sunday. I got a worn 26 merc, three wheats, a 1920 Cuban cinco centavos coin, a cheap ring, a Seattle Seahawk pendant and about five dollars in clad. Maybe our next club hunt will be more productive. HH to all. Eddie

    Forgot the picture.

Happy reunion with the rings owner. That's me on the right...... : ) Eddie

    Bummed out!!!!

I had a post awhile back about a Rose Bowl ring that I found while detecting a park in the Seattle area. A couple of weeks ago I was able to meet up with the rings owner at a restaurant in Seattle and gave it back to him. I mentioned to him that I would like to do a story about returning his...
