    Problem with deep nails

Today, I got two deep (8 inches) 12-44/45 signals that turned out to be large nails. I tried to pinpoint accurately but I guess it was not accurate enough. I was really fooled! Can anyone give me some tips on the method of pinpointing in order to avoid these trash targets? Thanks Chuck

    My Best and Oldest Find!

Was hunting a park in S.E. Iowa over the weekend and got a signal at 9 inches that I was sure was an Indian Head but to my pleasant surprise, out pops this 1853 Half Dime with arrows. No mint mark so it was minted in Philadelphia but it looks to be in great shape. Thanks Chuck

    Deleting Patterns

As I gain experience in tweaking and developing my own patterns, I am finding that I cannot load all of them onto my CTX due to the maximum restriction of 10 patterns only. Can I delete the original stock patterns from my CTX in order to gain more space? If so, can I retrieve these later if I...

    Disappearing Signal

How many times has this happened to you? I get a good and reasonably deep signal, pinpoint and then dig a plug only to find out that the signal is gone. I use the pinpointer to determine if the target is on the sides of the hole, dig a little deeper and keep checking with the pinpointer and if...

    Metal Detecting Rally's in USA

I have been corresponding with a gentleman who just attended a rally in Bedford, UK. He found some museum quality Roman Coins and Relics. He suggested that I join next year which I may do. There are apparently many in the UK sponsored by Minelab. My question is, are there the same types of...

I am an X-Terra 705 user and am considering moving up to the CTX. My problem is a lack of compatibility of the Xchange2 program with my Macintosh computer. My question is will the lack of the use of the Xchange2 program adversely effect my use of the CTX?

    Considering E-TRac

I have been an x-terra user for the past two years and although I like the machine, I am considering an upgrade. I've read a bit about the ET and I like the fact that it can differentiate between ferrous and non-ferrous which has to be done manually on the x-terra. Can anyone help me with the...
