You would think Minelab would fix this by now...

I've had my XT705, bought the gold pack new, going on 5 years now. Yesterday I sent back my 4th 18.75 Elliptical coil for the ears (mounting brackets) breaking. Yes, it is still under warranty, but you would think they would of remedied the problem by now. Of all the coils they have this one has...

First time out with the Xcal in almost a month, last couple hunts out were with the DF. Can't complain about the weather here, highs in the 80s and water temps are high 70s. The beaches are still being used by visitors and locals daily, which the beach vendors are more than pleased. Started the...

3rd times a charm, DF scores 14k and Case knife

Out for the 3rd time in 4 days with the Duel Field this Sunday morning, taking advantage of the low tide and last weeks beach erosion from the big water and rough surf that took some sand off the beach. I just hunted along the waters edge this morning never getting more than ankle to knee deep...

Digging it all with the Dual Field

This is a total of two morning low tide hunts, this morning and Thursday, @ 3 hours each day with the Surf PI. I hunted the wet, waters edge, in the ditch, on the sandbar and just outside the bar where I hardly found anything. Each morning the Gulf looked flat, but was dirty with some menacing...

    Ain't Pretty....First 24k ring

It sure ain't pretty, but I broke through my 18k ceiling this morning with this 6.1g 24k ring. Using the 705/HF DD Elliptical coil I got a 10/14 broken scratchy signal that was maybe 3 or 4 inches down in the hard beach sand. It looked a lot like brass to me when I first saw it with its dull...

    5 ring day: 2 X 14k, 2 X Tungsten, 1 X 925 toe

After spending an hour this morning, with no luck, searching for a diamond ring lost 6 months ago off a dock in mud and oysters, I did another 6 hours at the beach with much better results. Within the first hour I got a 14k, 8.1g followed by a Tungsten Batman ring. Lots of coin and trash with a...

    Did well today..,925, 10k, 18k

After some really rough weather that had the beach being pounded by big surf during some major high tides, I finally was able to get in the water with the Xcal for six hours today. It was a good hour before high tide when I started this morning and still going out when I quit this...

Another lost ring found with the 705/HF DD Elliptical coil

Even in your dads pocket your ring is not safe.. Stoner, yes that's his real name, put his sons, Chuck, wedding ring in his pocket last month for safe keeping while they did some yard work, only to realize later that the ring was no longer there. They searched the yard and even rented a metal...

    14k with aquamarine stone?..HongKong 925

Out around noon hunting the falling tide with the Xcal, the water was so flat and clear today. Stepped in quite a few holes from the weekend warriors, but not another hunter seen for the four hours I was out there. Half hour in found the HK 925, did not think it was silver coming out of the...

A quick lost ring find from a yard & Nice knife find from the beach

I received a call last week from my CL ad from a guy that lost his wedding ring. He was pretty sure after going through his car and house that he either lost it mowing a friends lawn, or in his yard. Rudy was crushed at the loss of his ring, his wife had the ring custom made from other family...

August's 705/HF DD Elliptical beach hunts: Rain & Pain

August was a tough month for beach hunts with the XT705. Lots of rain was one issue because it keeps the sand hard and wet...Not much gets lost when it can't disappear when dropped and not to many tourist like putting a towel down on wet beach sand. The other issue was I took out a couple toes...

Couple outings with the Dual Field, both during the major negative low tide around and before sunset. Got one good long hunt in and the other cut short by an approaching thunder storm. .....the weight, appearance and VID numbers on the Xterra didn't add up, it's junk:rage:....Finding the band first and knowing that it was most likely part of a set I kept working the area till the engagement ring was found. 4 rings...2 in one scoop. But the best was this question, " Are you looking for...

golf balls?".....He was dead serious! I saw him watching me as I worked my way up the beach and when I got close enough for a acknowledging nod he asked me. Never heard that one before and come to think about it, I've never found a golf ball in the Gulf of Mexico yet. LOL So about the hunt...

    Dive boot socks?

Who wears them? I wear NeoSport Wetsuits 5mm Hard Sole Boots and am pleased with them, same pair 2 years now. Still can't avoid some sand/shell getting in from the scoop shake out and irritating my feet, I'm thinking a pair of Lycra Fin Dive Socks would help. Thanks
