    Prayers and praise...

...first, I'm praying for all of the requests posted. There are many serious concerns posted lately and my heart goes out to each and every one of them. Second, Brian had one day surgery yesterday on his left leg and is doing great! The rod had pushed through his left femur near his knee...

    Please!!! Send food........

...Brian is eating us out of house and home!! We're now down to two bedrooms and I have to sleep on the porch!! Maybe I need to build a doghouse because we've had unusual weather here the last couple of days. Some of the old timers tell me it's called rain. Brian is really improving and is...

    The chapel my dad built...

My dad designed and built this prayer chapel in a room previously used as a Sunday school room at our church. He cut each individual part and then sanded the edges and glued the pieces together with Elmer

A few days ago he started talking...

...and today he started eating!!! Praise the Lord!! Mom and dad watched him today while we worked and he asked them if they would take him to play miniature golf. Mom told him he couldn't play if didn't start eating! Well...he had two soft tacos and some crackers. After dinner he asked if I...

    Man...Brian is doing great!!!

We were moved out of ICU and into a private room this afternoon. Brian is already drinking small sips of water, juice and soft drinks, something they didn't expect him to do for a couple of days. The tumor had hit his spinal cord and was bent down the back of his throat a couple of inches or so...

    Addendum to Mikes update...

...thanks Mike...I appreciate your call and updating everyone for me. I still don't have my laptop up and running but found a business center in the hospital where I can get on-line for a few minutes. Brian's surgery went better than expected and the surgeon was able to remove A LOT of tumor...

    Preparing to go to Nashville.

Brian's surgery is scheduled for 7:30 Tuesday morning. We decided to get a room for tonight instead of getting up at 3am and making the 3 hour drive on just a few hours sleep. This is probably the most serious surgery on his tumors so far. They are going to split his pallet and remove some bone...

My boss' daughter passed away yesterday...

...unexpectantly. He is the owner of our store and an unbelievablly good man to work for. When we were in Vanderbilt with Brian for 2 weeks he paid me vacation pay, pay I hadn't earned yet and didn't expect or deserve. She was only 40 and leaves her husband and 3 kids, 12,9 and 7. Please keep...

UPDATE: All is well and Brian went back to school today!!

I took him to the hospital yesterday and his blood levels were up to 33 from 28 when we left Vanderbilt. His blood levels were at 21 when we first took him to ER. That means he is producing blood and isn't leaking anywhere. Gotta go...Brian's nurse just called and he is having some trouble...

    We're back home...

..got in around 6:30, but I'm not real comfortable being away from the hospital. His blood levels remained constant all day which is a great sign but I fear he may start bleeding again. Thank you very, very much for your prayers...the situation was critical but Brian responded well. He...

    Brian is doing great!!

So far no new bleeding and the latest blood test shows some improvement. If his levels get back up to normal by morning then we can go home. If they are lower then it means he is still losing blood somewhere and they will do a nuclear test to locate the bleeder and follow up with another...

    Todays surgery...

...wasn't successful. They managed to cotterise the blood vessels but when the scabs come off they will probably bleed again. Brian needed another couple of units of blood before surgery. He is doing good now and eating like a horse. The team of doctors are in conference trying to decide what to...

    Surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30...

...thanks for all the prayers and well wishes!! I'm writing this on 1 hours sleep so please excuse my mistakes. Brian's ENT doc called and asked me what Brian's vitals were and when I told him his heart rate was 142 he said to get him to Children's in Knoxville ASAP. It turned out his blood...

    Things aren't looking very good...

...I sometimes feel like a burden to our community with my prayer requests for Brian, but another problem has developed that I am very concerned about. As you know we were scheduled to go for surgery October 2nd, and we still are, unless things change tomorrow. The last 4 nights Brian has bled...
