    Had a moment today.

I agree… when things are slow, even a tungsten ring in the scoop looks pretty good to me!!

    Silver necklace chain

Actually it thought the charge would have been more… not sure of the value of the necklace, but you may be surprised. I had the one I found repaired too and wear it. Mine is the same design, but only 20”.

    Bought a Compadre with a 7” coil

I have never tried the Compadre, but folks seems to love them and they are still sought. I had a Cutlass for a while and it was pretty fun to use, but I prefer the models with adjustable ground balance for my mineralized soil.. two models I had were tue Vaquero which is still have and the...

    Had a moment today.

That would have got me excited too! Still a neat find… sometimes it balances out… you find something you think is junk and it turns out to be something nice… part of the game I guess.

    Silver necklace chain

Glad to hear you will have the necklace repaired. That link design is called “Figaro” links. I found one several years ago and although being silver, it read just like a nickel.

    Silver necklace chain

That is a nice necklace.. probably worth having a clasp put on it. To me the date on the token looks like 1971.

Question about this button I found.

That turned out to be a great site for my buddy and I. We found such a wide variety of buttons there. All Confederate except for one union button… it was either a NY or Penn. button… can’t recall now..My buddy found it.

Question about this button I found.

Thanks, I have not been back for a while, but still on my list. We found some nice buttons there, but no coins. A couple other finds were part of a powder flask and part of a brass spur. A buckle would be nice!!

Question about this button I found.

I was looking at some respones to "relikusmc's" recent post below and was wondering about this button. The responses he got were that if the button has an iron back, It is post Civil War era. I found this one some years ago around an old house site along with quite a few other military buttons...

    Equinox 800 on silver

It may be worth a try also if you are dealing with EMI and have to lower the sensitivity in Multi frequency… you may be able to run a higher sensitivity setting in 5khz, although I have found that in this situation switching to a higher single frequency seems to give better results when around EMI.

Manticore is super sensitive- 3 different Percussion caps

I have found percussion caps from the Civil War with my 800 also… surprising how it hits them. I also found some with a 900 that a friend loaned me. Like you, I had trouble using my pin pointer to find them.. it would not give a very good response on them.

    Found my first cache

    Interesting find!!👍

    Button

I do not think it is military related.. to me it looks like what is referred to as a “Flower” button. Looks like it has an iron back.

    Equinox upgrade

Personally I never had any problems with the scale on the 800 coming from the XTerra 50 and Sovereign GT. With that said, I also have an XTP and had no trouble learning that new scale either.. matter of preference I guess. It seems some folks like the new scale and others prefer the older scale.

900s first hunt with the Upgrade.

    What a shame…

900s first hunt with the Upgrade.

You made some great finds on both trips and at least saved some piece of history.. That was a beautiful church.. such a shame for it to be demolished…😢 Just think about all the labor that went into building it!!
