.......break down and blow my miserly image ! I'm basically a clad type; problem is there are so many fellas hitting our small and limited beaches and playgrounds, that I'm going to spend more summer hours on the grass/hard ground. Hillary bashing .......... a new take on political mud slinging ?

Funny site, but seriously, have never seen this sort of an organized take down before. Not sure I like it; opens up Pandora's Box big time ! Not my place to comment on US politics though. I'm sure there will shortly be other similar, but anti-R. sites springing up. I just used Google and...

Up in Canada's NWT, at a remote HBC store, the store manager realized someone was stealing wood from the store stockpile.Annoyed, he selected a suitable chunk of same, took a large auger, bored him a nice hole and put in some stump powder.Concealed the hole and placed it back on the woodpile...

Elson, a little anecdote for you and your good lady ........

...saw an interview several years back on TV. An elderly actress was being interviewed by a youngish woman, who commented on her recent 50th anniversary. She found 50 years of marriage to be an incredibly long time. She asked, if in all those years, had she not even once considered divorce ? The...

    Polar bear licence plate ......

Spent several years in Inuvik, N.W.T. ( grab an atlas folks,it is in the western corner of Canada's Northwest Territories) In the office I took over in '76,a desk drawer gave up an envelope holding a set of plates, that were never on a vehicle. I kept this one and gave the other to an elderly...

Thought I'd put on a new post, to catch your eye. California was OK but I did notice folks were too numerous and seemed to be determined to be so darn ........Californian! How cold was it ? ...............

Waaaaay too cold for probably everyone on the forum except for Vernon in his Alaska days. Have to chuckle at how some of you cringe at -15 F. Mind though, that after some years here on balmy Vancouver Island, I would whine and complain too at -15F ! We were living in Inuvik,in Canada's...

Ooops ! Re: my post on Helo rescue .......

:canadaflag:.....meant to add that this is an incredible display of skill. Density altitude (altitude & temperature), partial ground effect on a steep slope, a bang on partial hover, placing just enough weight on a risky structure to aid stability.I'm just an 'ol private fixed wing kind of guy...

Old US coins I find up here on Vancouver Island .......

well, not often, but they are neat finds. Found a 1905 V nickel a couple of days back, on a local salt water beach. This one was in quite good shape;several others found over the years were usually impossible to date. I have also added some Buffalo nickels and 2 or 3 Shields to my iffy...

Re: Comebacks to " My first photo attempt" ...........thanks to all ......... had to ....

.........include my daughter's wee Ruby in the pic to dilute the impact on sensitive eyes.
