I wonder if he knows theres about three feet of snow underneath him. A little early to be starting this - but this guy put on quite a show for me today. Really snowy and cloudy out today - plus hes under some pines. Wish there was some more light. I hope he hangs around in the same area so I get...

First couple are of a grouse - had to be quick to get these shots - they don't hang out too long.. Next is a hawk just getting ready for flight.. Next is an Owl - taken just before daylight - so I had to use the flash - I could have gotten rid of the red eye, but I think he looks kinda...

    Eagle and Hawk pics...

Well it was one of those days I just wished the sun was out. I finally got the opportunity to take some closer pics of an eagle and a hawk - it was overcast and snowing a little. I'm still having a hard time trying to set the exposure so its right (especially on cloudy days). They still came out...

    Pheasant shots with the D-80

All taken with Nikon D-80 and 70-200mm f/2.8 AF-S VR Zoomed all the way to 200. Free hand with vibration reduction turned on. No post editing except to crop and resize. Taken in Shutter priority mode at 1/500 and camera picked the aperature of 7.1 (If I remember right). I really like this lens..

Pheasant pics with the new camera.

After taking about 20 or so shots of this guy , he finally took to flight and landed in a floral rose bush right next to a hen bird. I never did see her until he landed next to her. Should have seen the pup trying to get out the truck window while I'm taking these pics - it was quite a scene...

Bird pics with my new camera.

I went out and bought a Nikon D-80 and a 70-200mm f/2.8 afs vr zoom lens for it. Seems how the ground is frozen around here - thought I'd go out and take some pics. These pics are from my first trip out with this camera. Enjoy.

Haven't swung the detector in probably a couple months now. Been busy training my new pup and trying to find this guy during daylight. Been having better luck with the pup - he's four and a half months and retrieving already. However - he hates having his picture taken - ears go right back when...

    Weedeater Logic.

Two South Georgia farmers, Jim and Bob, are sitting at their favorite bar, drinking beer. Jim turns to Bob and says, "You know, I'm tired of going through life without an education. Tomorrow I think I'll go to the Community College, and sign up for some classes." Bob thinks it's a good...

Went water fishing before dirt fishing.

After fishing this hole a week or so ago and only catching one little 10 incher and letting him go - I knew there had to be at least one good one left in here. After the rains last weekend, the creeks came up as well as the water temp. 21 and 1/2 inch brown - not bad for a small stream. After...

Carnation Milk is best of all.

A little old lady from New Orleans had worked in and around family dairy farms since she was old enough to walk...with hours of hard work and little compensation ...and when canned Carnation Milk became available in grocery stores (1940s or 50's???) she read an advertisement offering $5,000 for...

    A Hunting Story.

Thought ya'all get a laugh out of this - I sure did. One night, at the lodge of a hunting club, two new members were being introduced to other members and shown around. The man leading them around said, "See that old man asleep in the chair by the fireplace? He is our oldest member and can...
