    Short Hunt Today.......

I hit a Colonial sight right on a busy highway. My first signal was a fired musket ball, followed by a button. The only real keeper was this stirrup. I love finding these things  I thought I had a set, but the second target in the hole was a spring from an old wagon. Maybe I'll get...

    Hey Bill.....

Here's a picture of that Camp where we field tested the ID Excel. Looks a bit different now huh? I talked to a guy that got some good stuff out of there. It's all over now! This isn't where we hunted, we just drove by.

    EXTREME Relic Hunting.....Part 1

Many Thanks to Bob S. for putting us on a spot to detect this weekend (albeit a rather muddy spot ) My Dad and I hit that construction sight Friday evening for a couple of hours. Here is the bayonet that I didn't dig! Boy it sure looked good in the mud![attachment 17271...

    Never Say "Never"...

I have often said I would never post a wheat cent on the forums. I have literally found 1000's of them. I think today I'll make an exception. I got this 1914D this morning. This one has a LOT of detail. I might get this one graded. Check your Red Books on this one:wink: I hope...

    PLAN "C"

I started out last night heading to VA. I was spending the night at Dad's house (Frank VA) and then we were heading up to Spotsylvania to the spot Bob S. posted below. Well the rain was coming down in buckets and the forecast was ugly. They were showing rain/snow and wind gusts to 60MPH...

    Another VA find......

It's no Confederate button, but it's still pretty cool (at least I think it is) Thanks to Bill D(VA) I now know this ROTC collar insignia dates to the 1920s - 1930s. It looked like another large cent in that good VA mud!

    Finds from VA....

My Dad got us on a place built in 1820, so naturally I had to make an "Emergency" run to VA. He pulled up a large cent that turned out to be an 1836 after cleaning. It's in better shape than it looks even though someone started to drill it.[attachment 14311 LC1836Obv.jpg] The reverse looks a...

It ain't over 'till it's over!

Got out today with my Dad Frank (VA) for the last hunt of the year. I was hoping for a VA button, but this one will do! I'll post a "Cleaned" photo when I get back to NC. In case you can't make it out, it's a Confederate Block "A" coat button. We both got some silver and a few more...

    Made it Back...:usaflag:

I finally made it back from Moldova last night. It took about 21 hrs start to finish. We were able to take Christmas gifts to 468 orphans in the first orphanage we visited in the village of Leova. The next day we went to Crihana Veche down south on the Romanian border. We took gifts to 160...

    Yankee Officer's Button

Yesterday, I was traveling back from visiting family in VA for Thanksgiving and I stopped at an old homestead visible from the interstate. My Dad and I had hit the place several years ago and we found a couple buttons. I knew there had to be one or two left. It's a General Staff Officer's...

Well, I Called It!.........(Way Off Topic)

I've said it over and over again, and I'll say it again. A good season for the Carolina Panthers is not a winning season, but a season in which none of the players murder their pregnant girlfriend, none of them are arrested for domestic violence, DUI,DWI or AWI (Anything While Impaired) and so...
