Spent Fathers Day out of town. I hope I was missed a little bit.

There is a story behind this picture. % years ago, I built this 6 compartment Martin box. The Martins moved right in the first year, and tried again after that. The only thing is, the Bluebirds took over, and have been in control ever since. The Bluebirds have about 4 hatches each year, but...

my BIRD FEEDER HAS BEEN ATTRACTING THIS NEW KIND OF BIRD.

This guy was very large, and really ate a lot of sunflower seed. He won't do that anymore. [attachment 59566 100_1037560x420.jpg]

I almost forgot to post my bird for today.

This little fella couldn't fly after he cleared the nest. A Mocking Bird was pecking him, so I picked him up and put him back in his nest. His mother took over again, and he took off in about three days. [attachment 58590 BabyBluebird560x420.jpg]

    Pygmy Brown-Headed Nuthatch.

This bird is very small ( about 3 inches ) and very nervous. Hard to get a really good picture. [attachment 58290 BrownHeadedNuthatch560x420.jpg]

Wish I could be out detecting, But it is what it is.

I can detect for a while, and get down and dig, but I can't get back up yet. I'm doing some exorcise that will help me get back to it soon. Pray that it works, and that I can look forward to no chemo treatments soon. Meanwhile, here are some more birds. This is a Black-Capped...

I'll bet you guys wonder how I come up with so many bird pics.

We are blessed in this part of our great country to have such variety. Plus, I stay ready to take pictures at any given moment, and have feeders set up at very convenient places. I just enjoy observing God's creation. This is the Red Bllied Woodpecker, which lives here year round...

    New bird showed up Tuesday.

This is a female Northern Oriole. Very pretty, but not as colorful as the male. [attachment 57809 100_10122560x437.jpg]

Todays Bird Pic. Rufous Sided Towhee.

This bird is a migrant, just passing through. We see them for a short time in the spring. [attachment 57296 Rufous-sidedTowhee508x420.jpg]

    White Breasted Nuthatch.

This little bird looks like something from the Orient. I consider myself very blessed to have attracted so many different birds to my feeder. It fills in the time while I am semi homebound. If this gets boring, just let me know, and I'll back off. [attachment 57163...

I took this shot just minutes ago. I hope someone enjoys these.

This is an Indego Bunting, that I have been trying to get a picture of for days.. They are very shy, and I hope to get a better shot later. I'd rather be out detecting, but I'm not able to do that right now, so this is my next favorite hobby. [attachment 56603 IndegoBunting560x420.jpg]

I may have posted this before, but it's worth another shot.

[attachment 56589 100_07123560x470.jpg]This is the largest Tiger Swallowtail that I've ever seen. It would measure about 6 inches from tip to tip.

Persistance pays off. Here is the bird I have been trying to post.

I had the size just a little over what the system would accept, and didn't notice it. [attachment 56485 100_09782504x398.jpg]
