    1856 House Yard Finds - 05-20-06

I checked out a few spots today. The first spot I hit was some sidewalk tearups here in Muncie where they are redoing the 'projects.' I found 5 memorials and 1 wheat, a 1942D. Then I went and checked out a tiny, tiny front yard of a house that was built in 1901. I think it had been filled in. I...

    Today's Finds.... 1875 House

I went out with Lee today and we hunted an old house that dated back 1875. It was a nice old brick home on a corner lot in a small town. I ended up with 10 wheats on the day, the oldest being 1920. I also got a nice green 1907 Indian Head Penny and 3 silver coins. A 1946 Roosevelt, and 42 & 45...

Got out for a bit today in some new spots for me...

I went to a friends today and she let me hunt her parents yard. I guesstimated the house to be about 1950 or so and I think I was right based upon my findings. I got 2 wheats out of the yard, 1939 and 1951D as well as a handful of memorials, all from the 1960s. The oddball coin from their yard...

Hunting in an invisble dog fence...

I went out yesterday with a buddy to an old house that dates to the late 1800s with a huge yard. Now much of the yard has been pushed around, but I'm betting there had to be some good spots somewhere... now on to my question... Is there a way to get rid of the annoying noise that the detector...

4/24 Park Finds, a few first & silver hat trick!

Today was a great day for me! I went out with Lee and got some goodies. Sadly he didn't do as well. The parks we hunted were relatively modern, 1950s to present. The old parks in town are pretty much hunted to death and it's a good day if you spend 8 hours and get a wheatie out of them. So we...

    A few explorer questions...

I've been using an explorer since last fall and have gotten out about 30-50 times with it so far. I am getting better at it each and every time out, but I still have some issues with it. I've got some old house sites that are just farmers fields now. Is there a way for me to get around the...

Just bought a Minelab Sovereign (older one) and I'm lost!

I just purchased a used Minelab Sovereign (one of the original ones) and it has a digital target id on it as well. When out in the field or benchmark testing it just goes crazy with the numbers going back and forth even when there is nothing within 5 feet of the detector. I can't seem to get it...
