    2 hour=1 little gold today

:yo: two hours in the surf got me one small gold band. This is the kind I hate to find because I know it hurt to lose it. It is an old style band, not worth much, that has been worn so long the benchmark is nearly worn off. I can make it out with a glass, Artcarved 14K. OH well,once...

    Got a good "Nut" today

:clapping::clap: Pulled a nice platinum/21 diamond anniversary ring today. I may have a lead on the owner but not sure. I was told that a ring was lost a few days ago in the area and that there was a very upset young lady there with tears in her eyes. I sent an email to the Hotel where she...

    Gold relative to time

:detecting: Some statistics? I have put together after 16 years of beach hunting: 1) I have averaged $2.50 per hour in clad and bills. 2) One piece of gold for every $7.50 recovered. 3) One piece of gold every 3 hours of actual hunting. 4) One ring containing a tested diamond for every...

    Hawaii days with little gold

 Just returned from 7 days on Hawaii. Got out for a total of 6 hours hunting. It was not a great trip for finding. Dug about 7 bucks in clad, one silver hoop ear ring, one silver toe ring and only one gold ring. The gold ring is a ladies wedding ring and is broken. My guess is that...

June 3 , 5 ring day or 9 ring day if you want to count silver

:clapping::super: Yesterday My CZ 20 with the 8 inch coil came home from Fisher after being repaired. Just had to take it out for a test drive this morning. Spent 3 hours turning over the bottom in shallow water from 1 foot to 4 foot deep. The repaired machine seems to be working sat...

    Extreme water hunting

:clapping: I love some of the bennies of this hobby. A newley wed couple, evidently with deep pockets, hired this chopper to take them to a remote waterfall for a honey moon dinner. Yep, he lost his ring while they were skinny dipping. The chopper company gave me a free ride to take a look...

Here are the photos from the SD card that was in the camera I found today

:surrender: I found the little Kodak digital camera today 30 feet down. Camera was drowned but the SD card still is wiggling. I loaded these photos onto the computer. Do you know who these people are. Long shot but wouldn't;t it be fun to find them and send the SD card with all the photos...

    Jumped into the hole today

:jump: Not much but did come away with a few interesting things. The Arizona driver's lic. in the wallet has the guys address. I will mail it to him as there is no Phone number on any of his paperwork. Anyway it had a $50 so I will use that to pay postage and send him the leftover. I will...

:wiggle: One of my many other hobbies when not out detecting. Actually, It was a training swim that got me interested in water detecting. I eyeballed a nice platinum ring and that got me to thinking about how many there might be that I could not see. Photo was when I was a kid of 61. May do...

    HH PI with 8" coil

:surrender:Anyone using The HH with 8 inch coil? If I were to get a HH I would want the 8 inch. I just emailed Detector Pro and was surprised to see the $270 price tag on that optional coil. WOW, that makes it a high priced machine. I'm having second thoughts but wanted opinions of someone...

The stuff that makes detecting soooo fun

[attachment 27553 Diamonddaycopy.jpg]:jump: These are the things that get me all excited. Both found using the CZ 20 10.5 coil under big waves that cleaned a little sand off the bottom. Sort of like working in a washing machine on high but well worth the effort. Not from today but a few...

[attachment 27412 DSC_0007.jpg]:yo: drove by a beach yesterday and noticed the sand had shifted a bit. Decided to hit it with the CZ 20 for a quickie this morning and came away with 4 little gold pieces, a junk silver, change, and the usual trash.

Gave up on a new CZ 20

:nopity:I gave up on finding a new CZ 20 so sent mine to Fisher for repair. It will cost nearly $700 according to their estimate. I figured I might as well bite the bullet. If I got one off ebay it would cost that much and not have a warranty. At least this way it should come back working...
